Danielle awoke that morning with Traps arms around her. They had fallen
asleep last night talking, the surprise of his father arriving making it
impossible to sleep.

Danielle lay there thinking. Trap and his father had spent some time
alone, and both had decided to wait until later this afternoon, after Trap
and her returned from seeing Kay, to take his father to see Tera and
Trebin.

Trebin.....Danielle smiled as she thought about her new nephew and his
perfect little face and hands. Maybe one day, she would have a child also.
No....she didn't want children, what happened to them if something
happenened to you? They were left alone and hurting.

Danielle trailed her hand softly down Trap's chest and heard him moan
softly in response. Danielle giggled. She liked waking him up this way!

Danielle and Trap, after seeing Violet and peeking in on Trebrin and Tera,
took off for Raissa.

"I want to see Lord Etain before we see Kay, Trap" Danielle said "Maybe we
can give him good news."

Trap nodded, still apprehensive about this whole trip.

They landed and requested an audience with Lord Etain and were ushered in.

"You wished to see me?" Lord Etain looked at the two of them.

Danielle stepped forward "Lord Etain, with all due respect Kalewyn is
being held on wrongful charges."

"And why do you feel this is so?" Lord Etain looked at her.

"Sir, I was there....and the man Sabbith flamed was coming at Kay with a
knife. It was self defense." Danielle tried to make him see reason.

*A few minutes later*

Trap and Danielle walked towards the holding area and  walked into the
waiting room.

> "Danielle!" Kattibrie exclaimed in surprise, "We just came from seeing Kay."
> 
> "Kattibrie!" Danielle said, also surprised.

Danielle felt a stab of jealousy shoot through her as she realized that
this woman cared for Kay as much as she had, if not more. She wondered if
Kay felt the same about her.

> "How are you doing?" the queenrider asked Danielle with concern She reached
> a her hand out to lightly touch the bruises on the dragonrider's face.

Danielle flinched back, her eyes glaring at Kattibrie. "I will be fine."
Then she remembered what she had heard had happened to Kattibrie and
forced herself to ask "And you? How are you?"

"I will be alright" Kattibrie said stiffly "The important thing is that we
get Kay back home."

"I know" Danielle said "But I think he will be here until the trial. Lord
Etain said he would think about what I had said, but I don't hold out much
hope."

A guard stepped forward, looking Danielle up and down. What did this boy
have that two beautiful women would be so concerned about him. "You may go
in now."

Danielle squeezed Trap's hand reassuringly and stepped through the doors.
She walked past the first cell and then saw Kay, his back towards her, his
shoulders slumped. Her heart went out to him. She stood there, just
looking at him. It took a moment or two, but then he seemed to feel her
presence and turned around. He looked astonished.

"Danielle?" he signed to her.

She held her hands out to him through the bars. "Kay, oh Kay, I am so
sorry."

"What are you sorry for?" he signed "Its all my fault...everything."

"No, Kay, You were protecting me when Sabbith flamed this man. If it
hadn't been for me, you wouldn't be here now." Danielle had tears formeing
in her eyes "I have hurt you so much....can you ever forgive me?"

Btw, Kha, Danielle will be back by around lunchtime or a little after,
feel free to have them meet and talk...although Danielle hasn't been
informed she has a new patrol partner yet, and we can't patrol til at
least the next day or two as Violet is still grounded.
