[Day 3: Noon-ish - Dining hall]

"So we saw Elania surrounded by a cloud of wraiths. Dalanth led the way
in and burned a path through so she could get out. Dianthus followed us
in and kept Dalanth and I from getting burned to a crisp," H'nry said as
he illustrated the battle with his hands.

"You seem to have the same problems here that we had at Epion. New
riders always seem to find a way to get themselves in trouble," Gabriel
said.

H'nry nodded, "I've seen it more times than I want to remember. a new
rider will get into a tight situation and panic."

"The panic is usually worse than the situation they're in."

"Yeah, because once they panic they can't teleport, which is the fastest
way out of a bad spot."

"Training is the only way to be prepared for combating wraiths," Gabriel
said.

"It's easy for us to say that now. Training allows us to keep our edge,
But I remember my first time fighting wraiths. I was terrified. It was
hard to fight down the panic, despite the training," H'nry countered.

"I was not frightened during my first battle with wraiths, but I had
Veil to keep me calm."

"You must make a good team."

"I think we do."

[NRPG: This belongs in the middle of Kha's last post.]

H'nry watched Gabriel walk over to meet Danielle and Trap. He silently
wished the handsome man luck with her. Perhaps, he needs luck less than
will power, H'nry thought. Danielle took her last two partners to be
inside a week. Of course, she hadn't been mated to Trap at the time.
On the other hand, neither Daemon nor Kay was quite as handsome as
Gabriel. H'nry made up his mind. He'd bet M'rtin 10 silver crowns that
Danielle took Gabriel to be within two weeks, although he didn't think
he'd need the margin.

A hand on his shoulder pulled him away from his thoughts. He looked up
to see Retala standing beside him shrugging off her riding jacket.

"Oh, hello Retala. Just back from patrol?"

"Surveying the troops is more like it. The flightleaders don't need me
overseeing their every move. I'd like to go back to Raisa and talk to
Morgat again this evening."

"Ok. I'd like to stop in and see Kay while we're there," H'nry's face
got serious, "Do you promise you won't fall asleep on me?"

"I'll take a nap to make sure I don't, but first I need lunch. Would
you care to join me?"

"I'd love to, Retala, but I just ate and I have to go on patrol."

"I understand H'nry," Retala said with mock seriousness, "It's a tough
job, but someone's got to do it."

[In the mountains north of Telnor]

H'nry passed the canteen to Lyonnia who took a long swig. Their dragons
were resting a short distance away.

"Have you met the new rider from Epion yet?" H'nry asked, "Gadriel St.
Knight. He seems nice enough."

<His dragon's not very friendly.>

*Oh, give him time, Dalanth. They just got here.*

<I don't think so.>

NRPG:
Kris: Barring any more visitiors in the meantime, you can write H'nry's
visit (or wait for me to).

Lyn: Morgat will ask about witnesses and suggest returnig to the village
to ask around. It's a lead in to your idea. I can write it if you
don't get there first.

Kha: Excellent post.

		Respectfully submitted,
