[DL-T] Escape Forn A Rest Bit

She knew she should be resting. Knew it from everything other people had
been telling her, But Tera didn't 'feel' like resting any longer. It was
beginning to drive her out of her mind.

She needed to get out of the apartment she shared with her mate and do
...something...!! Anything just so long as she didn't have to stare at these
same four walls any longer.

And besides! she thought. The sooner Treb gets used to the sensation of
flight, the better he'll be for it. the quicker it would become a part of
his every day life.

Yes!! A short trip down to the hall shouldn't put to much of a strain on
her. Treb would more than likely sleep through the trip anyway, she thought
as she stared down into the tiny crib and her green eyes fell to look on her
son.

Oh how her heart swelled with love for the little black-headed babe. So like
his father Ga'brin. Gods how she loved that man. How could she not? He'd not
only loved her to distraction, but he had also given her the most precious
gift a man could ever give the woman he loved. His baby.

Ga'brin had been wonderful their first night home with Trebrin. He had seen
them both settled and made sure Tera was comfortable before making them both
a light meal.

During the night, he had been the one who would get up and retrieve the baby
whenever he decided he was hungry. And it was he who also changed the babe's
first dirty diaper.

Tera couldn't help but smile. With all her mates worries over weather or not
he would be a good father to the boy, he had just jumped right in and the
tall handsome dragonrider was doing a wonderful job.

It was long after he had left for his morning patrol that she had begun to
feel a little stir crazy. The tall blond woman had never been the type who
could sit around for very long. She always needed to be doing something.
That was one of the reason's she had been upset when she had been taken off
of the patrol roster as soon as it was learned she was carrying Treb. She
didn't like feeling useless.

She felt fine. Maybe a little sore still, but other than that she felt she
needed to be doing something, so she gathered the baby into a warm outfit
and grabbed her guitar and the bag filled with extra needs for Treb and
mounted the mid-night blue Sundellath for the short trip down to the Warren
meeting hall.

She'd be able to work on her new song there without disturbing anyone and
still be resting if anyone should happened to find her there........

She began to sing;

I was walking along the river
When I 'd seen something far away
It looked just like a wooden box
floating in the bay

I didn't know just what it was
Or how it came to be
So the first thing that I did
Was I opened it up to see

The box was filled with jewelry
And strange clothes I'd never seen
I tried on the clothes and I wore the jewels
And felt just like a Queen

I sat on a throne I'd made of logs
So very carefully
Strange things like this happen to people
But they never happen to me

And as I wore the jewelry
I felt the magic of a different day
Like living in a special place in time
Not like ours today

A world where the king tells the people
And the people do what he says

As I packed the jewels away
And set them back in the bay
I wonder if in the future
A time to far away

Someone will be walking by the water
And like me will stop and say..
I think I see a wooden box floating in the bay
I think I see a wooden box floating in the bay

And will they feel the magic
And the power of a different day
I think I see a wooden box
Floating in the bay.....

Tera had just finished the last cord run in the song when she heard someone
clearing his throat behind her. She hadn't realized that they was anyone
listening to her singing.

" Excuse me, my name is L'vand, rider of Pol."

Tea turned with a surprised smile." Greetings I'm Tera, Rider of
Sundellath."

"If you please ma'am, I am seeking the Warrenlady. I had sent word of my
coming." The exhaustion in the man's voice unmistakable. . . .

At first she was thrown by the patch covering one eye, It gave the man a
rakish sort of look, she thought, but then she took a good look at him and
saw just how tired he was.

<<Sundee by love, will you ask Beryth if her rider is able to see someone
right now. Tell her his name is L'vand and he and his dragon Poll are here
to report.>>

<She awaits them now.>

Tera set her guitar aside, stood up and moved over to where she had laid her
son down for his nap. Picking the babe up she turned back towards the rider.

"Why don't I just show you where her office is," she flashed him a beautiful
friendly smile.

"Oh there's no need for you to do that my lady," the man said. "If you could
just tell me the way...."

"Oh nonsense," she grinned. "Besides I've been sitting there playing long
enough and I feel the need to get up and walk around a bit. Besides
which...I'm hungry and the dining hall in on the way to Warrenlady Ophelia's
offices."

"Well if you're sure it's no bother," the man looked about ready to drop.

Tera wasn't sure he could remember where he was supposed to have gone if she
had told him. And besides she really did want to stop by the dining hall and
show Trebrin off to Tabita. If the boy was going to have two
grandmothers...it was best that he meet the second one at some point in his
life. Now seemed to be as good as time as any.

"So...tell me about yourself?" she asked as they exited the hall. "And I'll
tell you about your new home."

It was sometime before she got around to stopping by the dining hall and
showing off her son to the elderly head cook. The woman had tears in her
eyes when Tera offered her the babe to hold.....

Welcome Tony......

Well Tera was tired of resting... so she got out and did something about it.
She's really looking forward to the day when Sarrine okay's her to go back
out on patrols.....
