>"Oh nonsense," she grinned. "Besides I've been sitting there playing long
>enough and I feel the need to get up and walk around a bit. Besides
>which...I'm hungry and the dining hall in on the way to Warrenlady Ophelia's
>offices."
>
>"Well if you're sure it's no bother," the man looked about ready to drop.
>
>Tera wasn't sure he could remember where he was supposed to have gone if she
>had told him. And besides she really did want to stop by the dining hall and
>show Trebrin off to Tabita. If the boy was going to have two
>grandmothers...it was best that he meet the second one at some point in his
>life. Now seemed to be as good as time as any.
>
>"So...tell me about yourself?" she asked as they exited the hall. "And I'll
>tell you about your new home."
>
"I fear you would get the short end of that bargan. My story is long
and sad. I would hate to dampen the spirit of one as kind as you." Said
L'vand bring up the last of his good cheer to smile gently at talented
singer. "Sufice it to say I have lost and that loss has marked me and forced
me from my home. I search for a new life, for the sake of my dragon if no
other."
Tera could easily see past the words to the pain this man carried, but
she saw also hope, a hope for the future that he was afraid to express.
With a quick smile, L'vand, hoping to ching the subject. "You were
going to tell me all about my hopfully, new home? who is who and what is what?"
She could see a hint of the man's former fire, faint though it may be.
Perhaps you are not a far gone as you think your self to be. Tera thought to
her self as she lived up to her end of the bargan, she began to relate to
L'vand the who's who of the Warren not to mention an abreveated tour. A tour
that L'vand insisted on despit his weary state.
Tera ended the brief tour at the door of the Warren Lady. "Here you go,
you are expected." She could see L'vand nerviousness and tried to reasure
him." you'll be fine, I've never seen her eat anyone. . .yet."
With a weak chuckle, L'vand smiled, and doffing an imaginary hat to
Tera, turned around and knocked at the chamber door. . . .
