[DL-T] Time Passes

It had been a hectic few weeks for H'nry. With Thomas recovering from
his experience with the Hellspawn and Sandor 'under the weather' H'nry
had been virtually running both the Alpha and Beta wings. His days were
tiring and his nights filled with dreamless sleep.
In a way, he felt it was better this way. He didn't have time to
consider that he was occupying her office and that he still missed her
terribly. In those rare moments when he was not occupied he would think
about Retala and would be aware of the emptiness that he felt. Then
someone would walk in the office door or Dalanth
would call him, and he'd be busy again.
It was like that the day B'rin returned to Telnor.
<My rider, are you busy?>
H'nry sat looking out the window in his office for a moment before he
even realized that Dalanth was trying to get his attention, *Yeah,
sure. I mean, no, I'm not.*
<Lofflissit's rider wants to know if you could speak to Kalon's rider
about mating flights.>
*B'rin? Mating flights? Why?*
<It seems Kalon won one while B'rin was at Whiteriver. Lofflissit's
rider seems to think you'll have something meaningful to say.>
H'nry sighed, *Well, there's no time like the present.*
H'nry walked down to the med center and quickly found B'rin's room. He
knocked on the door and B'rin called for him to enter. He opend the
door and walked over to the bed.
"How are you feeling?" H'nry asked.
"I've felt better, but I guess it could have been worse."
"I suppose it could have. So, Kalon won a mating flight?"
"Yeah, but I don't remeber much about it."
"Well," H'nry said, "next time I'm sure you'll remember all of it.
Kalon seems to think you're ready, so it will happen again."
"That's what R'chien said," B'rin replied.
"It's all about biology, B'rin. Like every other animal, female dragons
go into heat. Since we're so closely tied to them, we feel it, too."

> "Are you sure it will work?" Ophelia asked Libby as the two women stood in
> the warrenlady's office. "I've already had Trap in here complaining that
> enough wasn't being done."
>
> Libby sighed, "I don't know if it will work, but I do know that someone here
> doesn't want him to recover."
>
> "When and where are you going to take him?"
>
> "Tonight, and I need your help. No-one must know where we will be. Dinnan
> will be in contact with Beryth if that's alright by you?"
>
> Ophelia nodded agreement, "So where will you go?"
>
> "Isle of Tark. A friend has a lodge there that I can use. I thought that
> maybe going away from everything and everybody would help," she let out
> another sigh. Turning to the older woman, Libby smiled, "I'm scared Ophelia.
> Supposing it doesn't work?"
>
> Ophelia smiled back and wrapped her arms in an unusual show of affection, "I
> think you know it will work. You are his only chance, and I think he knows
> that!"
>
> Wiping the tears from her eyes, Libby sniffed, "I hope to the gods we're right!"
"Are you sure he's going to cooperate and teleport there and not
somewhere else?" Ophelia asked.
Libby looked concerned for a moment and said, "I think so."
"I have an idea," Ophelia said. *Beryth can you have Dalanth's rider
come here.*
H'nry knocked on the door of Ophelia's office and said, "You wanted to
see me?"
"Come in and close the door," she replied.
He did so, and looked from Ophelia to Libby and back to Ophelia.
"Libby has a plan to help Sandor," Ophelia said, "She wants to take him
away from the warren for a while, and she'll need some help."
"I'd be glad to help," H'nry said, "I assume you're going with him," he
asked Libby.
"Yes, preferably tonight," she replied.
H'nry nodded, "I think I'll bring someone else. That way Dalanth and I
can take Libby, and Tarlith and M'rtin can take Sandor. Dinnan can tag
along."
"Are you sure it's wise to involve someone else?" Libby asked.
H'nry nodded, "We don't want Sandor to have a change of heart and
teleport somewhere else. M'rtin knows that if he talks, I'll break his
legs."

[Later- Med center]
H'nry and M'rtin walked in the door of the med center and were met by
Libby. She walked over and said quietly, "I appreciate you doing this."
"I'm happy to help, and so is M'rtin," H'nry replied.
"Is he ready to travel?" M'rtin asked.
"As ready as he can be. On one hand he understands why I'm doing this,
but on the other hand he resents it," Libby replied.
They walked down the hall to Sandor's room and found him dressed to
travel. He walked over to H'nry and extended his hand, "I appreciate
this."
"I'm gald to help," H'nry said with a smile, "The sooner you get better,
the sooner I can stop running your wing."
NRPG:
Not much inspiration, and I'm not quite caught up. Hopefully next week
I'll get both inspired and caught up.
Respectfully submitted,
H'nry - Dalanth
