Day 3
Late Evening

The watch dragons trumpeted a greeting which was soon echoed by a number of
dragons throughout the warren. Eth'n and Mae were enjoying their evening
meal and both simultaneously paused in mid bite, Eth'n with the fork
half-way to his mouth, and Mae with hers clamped between her teeth. Their
eyes took on the misty, far-away look of one communing with their dragon, as
they queried their soul-mates about the odd dragon calls.

"The young queen..." Maedralyn's eyes lit up.

"The one Dalmar and Jason told you about?" Eth'n asked.

"Yes, I'm sure it must be."

"We'd better go and greet her, don't you think? -- or at least, I guess, you
should." Eth'n amended.

Mae smiled, "I'm sure she'd be delighted to meet you as well."

The two left their dinner and walked out onto the ledge and into the
evening. The sky was just turning from the softer grays to the deep blues
of night, but the Titanium colored queen was not hard to spot. A small
crowd had gathered around her, and the young red-headed rider sat up on top,
looking extremely nervous.

They descended the steps onto the green and strode swiftly across toward the
crowd.

"I've asked Dalmar and Jason to meet us here," Eth'n remarked.

Mae glanced side-long at him, "Ah... familiar faces, perhaps, to set her at
ease?"

Eth'n nodded.

"Good thinking." They approached and the crowd parted for the acting
Warrenlady and the Trainer.

"Welcome to Telnor! I'm Maedralyn, rider of the queen Zareena."

"Hi," came the small voice of the young farm-girl, "I'm Ann and this is my
dragon, Mint."

<Hello Mint> Eth'n greeted the queen.

<*Another human who can talk to dragons?*> Mint replied, surprised, <*I
rather like this place, but I'm feeling a bit tired. Is there a barn for me
to sleep in?*>

<My dear, you are a queen! You will have an entire ledge for yourself, and
an apartment for your rider just behind it. Just over there.> Eth'n waved
his hand toward the Telnor queenriders' apartments.

<*Oh, won't Ann like that! Her own bedroom where she won't have to share
the space with any of her siblings!*>

Eth'n chuckled. Warton landed a short distance away, and was joined by
Starfire. The two male dragons seemed extremely interested in the new
queen, and soon they were explaining many of the wonderful advantages that
Mint would have there at the Warren.

Jason dismounted from Starfire and joined Mae and Eth'n. Dalmar had not yet
arrived from the medical center, but Eth'n was assured that a dragon near
there would be glad to give him a ride.

Jason assisted Ann off of Mint, and more introductions were made to some of
the other riders present.

TAG: To any who want to place their characters within the crowd and meet
the new queenrider.

"We have a few empty queenrider apartments to choose from. Each has its own
special features," Mae explained. "I got a good look at them when I moved
here about a year ago."

"Whichever one you think would be the best for me is fine," Ann demurred.

Mae nodded, "I think the one right next door to mine would be nice, don't
you? It shares a small balcony like walk-way between the two ledgers, so
you wouldn't have to climb up or down any stairs to come over and visit."

"That sound just perfect!" Ann exclaimed.

In short order, Ann was in her new apartment, and all her belongings had
been unstrapped from Mint and brought inside.

Feel free to use Eth'n and Mae to answer any of Ann's "questions" as she's
settling in.
