Subject: [DL-T] Steaming Saphmine
[NRPG] I hope this shines some light on the Wasteling process. I'm sorry I didnt get
more done with Ann and Fal'k but I promise I'll do some more next weekend.
*****
Day 3 Evening. Somewhere outside of Cory.
Saphmine paced in the small tunnel connecting the two caves that the dragons
and humans had taken over. The battle had gone well. Her dragons had attacked
and flamed well, burning much of the human buildings. The normals also did
their part. Raiding for supplies and equipment.
Most of the wasteling riders pulled out before any warren rider presence had
arrived. She realized now that her initial plan to draw out the warrens might
not work. There had been very little response to the attack. Some dragons who
had friends or family in the city relayed the message to Telnor. But overall
very little resistance arrived.
And that fool Srot, had gone against her direct order. Lingering behind to
infect a warren dragon. That spawn would be very hard to control. And it might
give information to the warren healers about wasteling infection. Information,
that would give power.
She stopped pacing and looked at the hooded creature called Srot who stared
back at her under the dark cowl defiantly. Saphmine had called him to her using
the dominance link she had over him as his ‘mother’ wasteling.
“I don’t want to know what you were thinking.” She said calmly looking down the
tunnel that lead to the dragons as they slept. “I just want you to know this.”
She moves over to him, and pulled back his hood, and looked him in the eye.
“This offspring will be attracted by the link you have over him. When he dose
he will be killed. Before the wasteling infection has run its course.” She
paused looking for any reaction. Finding none she continued. “And if you, ever,
decide to go against my orders again, or if you try to save this creation of
yours. I will personally, remove you from that skin, and place your naked body
in the dragon gullets.”
She didn’t wait for a response this time. Walking briskly down the hall towards
the human contingent, she waved her hand at the attendant to her tent and
entered.
Yavel snickered in her mind, *You worry too much. Srot is as smart as the rest
of us. He will find a way to keep his child alive.*
Saphmine snarled. *I gave you no leave to enter my mind.* She thought angrily.
The silver yellow dragon grumbled a reply and faded in the woman’s mind.
The attack provided supplies and food for the group. She knew from her spies
that the leader of the Telnor dragons had sent out groups of dragons to find
what they could. They would find nothing above ground. The old mine that they
had used as their new hideout seemed as good a place to hide as any.
The next plan was in the works. But for now she needed to lay low, and stay
hidden. Let the warren spend itself searching the surface for rogues while her
dragons rested and planned.

Jason Carnahan
