Day 3, Early morning

Snip
"WHEN I TELL YOU TO BE HERE ONE HOUR AFTER SUNRISE, THAT MEANS ONE HOUR!" Eth'n
bellowed. He fixed the youngsters with a cold stare, though he fought back his
inner laughter at the petrified looks on their faces. "Do not be late again! Do
you understand?!"
End snip

It wasn’t Fal’k’s fault he was late, that healer, Libby, had kept him in bed
until she was sure he had clearance to leave. Fal’k had been walking about, as
the bandages at his side kept that bound tightly and securely, he wouldn’t be
doing much of the physical training with Airsight, but he could at least walk
on his own two feet. Brandy had been almost as upset as Libby when he said he
wanted to be here to help train Airsight. Fal’k tried to keep his mind off her,
but his thoughts kept returning to the redhead. He knew he wanted to see more
of her, but now was not the time…

Snip
"Now, today, your dragons will learn to follow your directions while
strengthening their muscles." Eth'n paced in front of the line of newly joined,
"Warton and I have set up an obstacle course. This is the first of many that
your dragons will learn to navigate, first on the ground and then later in the
air as they learn to fly. They must pass the obstacles in a particular order!
Only, you, the riders will know the order and must give them mental
instructions. We will be monitoring them from the air. "
End snip

Fal’k was determined not to let his wound stop him from training with Airsight.
Soucivi and his offer to take care of the little gray just made him more
determined.

When Airsight’s turn came at the course, he got his instructions, and told his
dragon to go to it. (You have to go find these two barrels, and circle around
each once separately, then cross in the middle.) Fal’k told his friend.

After the hatchling completed the maneuver, with little trouble Fal’k started
to feel better, and relaxed a bit more. The next step was to get the green ball
and move if up and to the right of the barrels. It took Airsight a little bit
to find the ball, but he moved it to where Fal’k said he should.

After that was getting the jar out of the hole. It was smallish, and the items
around the hole were not in the best of places. But, Fal’k noticed a rake
sitting on the ground, and thought Airsight, might use that… This of course
didn’t work. The little hatchling put the rake in the hole, and almost pulled
the jar out, but got the end stuck on the side, resulting in a broken jar. Both
Warton and Eth’n seemed to gleefully scold the training pair.

After the little talk, Warton told Airsight just to finish up, and get back to
the barracks as fast as possible. After all the pressure of breaking the jar,
and getting lectured by the trainers, Airsight, was happy to comply. And comply
he did. Passing the short distance in less than a second. The light brush of
air as the dragon sped by almost knocked Fal’k on his backside.

Airsight smiled up at his rider. *did I do good?* The mental voice asked.

And astonished Fal’k hugged his dragon and replied, (You did great.) Fal’k
seemed to like this strange skill that Airsight kept showing. But Eth’n was
worried. And he suggested that Fal’k talk to Dalmar, and get Airsight checked
over, since this ability was abnormal.

Later around noon.

Fal’k was looking for Brandy. He had managed to get the cooks to let him nab a
good sized lunch for the two of them, and he was hoping to get to know her a
little better this afternoon.

He found her in the Med center, sorting some vials and bottles in a shelf. But
when asked to go, she seemed reluctant. “Libby asked me to help, and besides
your hurt, you shouldn’t be moving about so much, your liable to reopen that
wound.” The redhead argued.

“Nonsense, The wound may be deep, but its well bandaged, and secure.” He
smiled, “and besides, I’ll be with you and you can keep an eye on it for me” He
winked.

(Tag Dianne, can he convince her?)

Day 3, Late afternoon.

B'larin ran his hand over his gray beard. He was taking a break outside of
Glosby. He was supposed to be looking for candidates for Rege’s clutch, but
with only three eggs, he wasn’t really working that hard.

Thrayfar was stretched out under the sun in the small glade he and B’larin had
chosen to stop in for the break. And he seemed as calm and restful at B’larin
was.

B’larin looked out over the hills and lands around him, and sighed, the country
life was a simple one for those who kept it. Sometimes he wished he lived in a
farm out here, Making a living by getting his arms elbow deep in the soil. But
of course, Thrayfar would be unsuited to a life like that. A dragon needed a
proper cave to sleep in at night. And B’larin would never neglect his friend.

His thoughts drifted out to the wings of dragons out searching for rogue dragon
riders. It was not a happy thought. B’larin never understood why some riders,
and dragons decided that they needed to harm others. Oh, they have their
reasons, I’m sure. The searcher thought to himself, but it was still a sad
affair.

The searcher spotted a farm in the distance with a large herd of cattle
grazing. (hmm, hungry friend?) B’larin asked his dragon partner as he stood up
and brushed off dirt and insects that had clung to his clothing. (Perhaps we
can convince the farmer over there to let you have a cow or two.)

The searcher pulled himself up into the makeshift saddle that he used on
Thrayfar. His arms ached with the strain. Perhaps he was getting too old for
this. It might be time to talk to Mae about finding something else he could do,
as he refused to stop working for a living.. Old or not.

At the farm.

Ann was feeding the chickens. She liked the little hens a lot. Watching them
cluck as they pecked at the grain she scattered around at her feet. Every once
and a while there would be a fight over something, that she would have to break
up, but the little birds were for the most part docile and friendly.

Her thoughts were shattered as the fenced hen area was covered in shadow as a
dragon flew overhead. Her first thought was that it was Mint. But she could
feel the queen sleeping in the barn. Ann quickly dumped the last of the grain
for the startled hens and ran for the house.

She arrived just as a man was dismounting off his dragon, and her father was
running from the barn with a large pitch fork in his hands.

B’larin meanwhile, was startled by the feeling he got as he flew over the
little farmstead. It was like he sensed a good candidate, but something was
different, it was blurred, almost muffled somehow. It was a moment before he
noticed Revil and his pitchfork.

That sight of course made him step back abit. B’larin was at the warren when
Revil joined. And he was also there when the dragon had been attacked and
killed by wraiths, it was only Revil’s mate Jessy, that kept him from killing
himself back then, It appeared that he had moved out here to get as far away
from dragons and their warrens as possible.

Revil was not showing any signs of recognition, “GO!” he shouted interrupting
the searcher as he started to greet the farmer. “I don’t need any dragon
business at MY farm”

B’larin was about to respond when Thrayfar interrupted. (Rider, there is
something here that shouldn’t be…) The old dragon sounded about as confused as
B’larin felt. With the presence of Revil it was not surprising that their might
be someone here with dragon affinity. (NO, its not a candidate… I think..) The
dragon sounded almost like he was trying to assure himself of what he felt. (I
think, it’s a dragon.)

*We don’t want to start a fight,* B’larin climbed back aboard Thrayfar. To the
former dragon rider he said, “I only wanted to see if Thray here might be able
to have a couple cows before we go.” He paused looking at the girl who ran up
behind her father and sensing that strange feeling again. “We will just lets
things go, I’m sure the warren can feed him.” The rider glanced again at the
girl who was looking at him with obvious interest. But he couldn’t make out if
it was for him, or just his position as a dragon rider. He felt it was most
likely the latter. He would have to get an appointment to talk to Mae about
this.

Ann didn’t know what to make of the rider, but she liked the dragon. Her time
with Mint had forced her to be around a dragon, and she didn’t become
frightened or hatefull towards them like her father was.

But she was worried, she had ‘overheard’ the dragon talking. It knew Mint was
here, and that means that her time staying on the farm might be drawing short.

Day 3 Evening,

“So that’s about the full of it.” The searcher said. “Thrayfar seems to think
it was a queen, as absurd at that seems.” B’larin was saying.

Perhaps it has some connection to the problems we’ve been having, Mae thought
to herself as she heard the report. Mae nodded at the older man. “I’ll have it
looked into.”

Then as the searcher left, she sent for Jason. When he arrived, she smiled and
indicated the map in front of her. “We have something that needs some looking
into.” She pointed at the spot were B’larin said the farm was. “There is a girl
here, who seems to be joined to a queen. I think you should go check it out,
and if possible bring both her and her dragon back to the warren.” she paused
thinking about how B’larin said the farmer reacted. “Take Dalmar with you if
you can, it might be a good idea to have someone who is not joined there, as
I’ve been told the father of the girl may have a problem with riders. And with
the reports of dragons and riders attacking land bound, it would be a good idea
to stay wary.”

“I’ll leave as soon as I can.” Jason replied trying to figure out if he should
be surprised, shocked, or just more than interested.

(tag Michael and John. You can do this as you see fit, Ann is my new queen, and
I’ll be writing her as much as I can, but I wanted to get more people
involved.)

And yes I’m still working on more of the rogue plot. Heh But right now I want
to work on Ann here and the hatchling training with Airsight. In a few days,
maybe next weekend, I’ll have the bios on all my creations ready to send, and
will start the plot up again as an emissary from lord Etain is currently
traveling to the warren under heavy guard from what’s left of Riasa.

Sincerely,
