Noon
Day 3

"Nonsense, The wound may be deep, but its well bandaged, and secure." He
smiled, "and besides, I'll be with you and you can keep an eye on it for me" He
winked.

It didn't take long for Brandy to decide that it wasn't a bad idea to keep an
eye on
Fal'k. She never knew too many men who actually did a very good job of taking
care
of themselves. So she agreed and he led her to the dining hall.

When he arrived he decided that the dining hall wasn't the place to get to know
her. It
was crowded at lunchtime and he wanted something a little more private. He
wished that
Airsight was bigger. He was already growing very quickly, but he was thinking
of how nice
it would be if they could fly off somewhere where no one would bother them.
Still...

"Excuse me a minute." Fal'k said as he headed towards the kitchen.

He was talking to one of the kitchen staff and soon reappeared with a basket.

"I've changed my mind about eating here. Do you think we can find a place to
have a
picnic?" he asked Brandy with a grin on his face?

"Well, I would think with that big green out there we should be able to find a
small corner
of it." She smiled back.

Late Morning
Day 4

Brandy sat on the green watching the hatchlings go through their exercises.
She wanted to make sure that Fal'k wasn't doing anything that might be so
strenuous. She didn't understand the feelings she had for this man.
She'd never had feelings for a man before. Well that's not exactly true,
she felt loathing for most of the men in her life.

No man, before Fal'k had ever shown her any respect. She had sex with men
for money and favors. Never for any other reasons. But as for
feelings...good feelings, she'd never known what it was like before.

She wished she could stay at Telnor. But she had nothing to offer to this
place. She could help out in the dining hall, or maybe even the med center,
but would that be enough to let them stay.

She wished that she would have arrived earlier and would have known about
the hatchiing. Maybe she could have joined with a dragon. Then she would
have been able to stay.

Lost in her own thought, she hadn't noticed Fal'k approach her and was
startle by his voice.

"You must be a million miles away?" he said as he smiled at the little red
head.

"No, I was right here."

"Oh?" he queried.

"Well I was hear for the hatching and wasn't. I'm afraid I'll have to
leave now. I'm really not skilled to stay here for any other reason."

"Leave? Don't be ridicules." he smiled "And anyway, we have more eggs on
the sands. But you realize not everyone is able to join with a dragon."

"Oh," she said sadly. "I thought it wasn't difficult."

"Well it isn't if you have 'dragon affinity'."

"Huh?" she was completely baffled now.

"Let's see if we can find the new searcher we have here. He could at least
let you know if you have a chance at joining."

"It's time for lunch and I only have about an hour before more training. If
we're lucky we'll find him in the dining hall." Fal'k grabbed her hand and
nearly drug her to the dining hall. He wanted this question answered as
much as she did. He'd just started to get to know her, he didn't want her
to leave.

And they were lucky, as they entered the dining hall the new searcher was
sitting at a table with the pretty Jr. Queenrider. They both looked in good
spirits but rather tired.

Fal'k was excited and spoke almost immediately.

"Please tell me she has dragon affinity."
