"Well, I don't do any of those things, mainly because I wouldn't
want to be on the receiving end of any of them myself. I learned from a
dear friend how to handle things without getting violent, you had a sample
at the party."

> Gently pushing the bubbles away K'rvey turned to Sarilyn again and said,
> "I don't think I need a healer though. It feels better now."
>
> "Well it's too late now, Darla is already getting someone."
>
> "Oh... hey!" he said spotting his torn shirt floating away from him,
> "That was my favorite shirt!"

"I'm sorry," Sarilyn replied softly, "I'll get you another one
somehow. It was more important to get it off of your back, in case of
blisters or anything. Your back needed air, and the water would have made
the shirt stick to your skin. I'm not doing so well, am I? First, I put
you on the floor, then I make you sick, and then I ruin your shirt. That's
three strikes against me. I'm not surprised you're not telling *me* to get
lost." She really looked so sad at having ruined his evening.

< snip .. healer arrives... >

> "Uh huh, right. You're name is Quervy or K'rvey, correct?" she said as
> she began helping him walk up Nhorrit's back and lay him down on top of

> Holding on and finally taking a rest, K'rvey answered, "Uh... of coarse
> not! My name is... uhh... my name is..."
>
> He quickly shot a look at Sarilyn and winked, "My name is Companee!
> Isn't that right Mishary?"

"Yup, that's right. And right now, your company is going to the
med center. Don't worry, I'll go with you, honestly, I've stood by you this
far, haven't I?"

Then she decided to take a gamble. "The riding harness will rub on
his back, Libby. I'll strap in, and hold him until we get there."

She thanked Nhorit profusely for allowing her to mount, much less
strap herself in to his rider's straps. Then, she gently held on to her new
friend. "Let's go, we'll meet you there, Libby. Please launch gently,
Nhorit, we don't want to jar your rider."

The red dragon moved slowly, before flapping mightily, and taking
to the air with nary a bump, bringing them to the entrance of the med
center. Sarilyn got off first, then gently helped K'rvey down.

"You go with Libby, K'rvey. I'm going to take a fast look around,
just to see if the med center here is laid out the same as the one at Xylian
was. I may as well start learning my way around. And..yes, when you're
done getting cared for, we'll go back to your place and get some rest."

She offered a smile, and wandered in after the two, looking around
as she went. The overall layout was different, but the look and feel were
the same, so some things never really changed. She smiled as she finished
her 'tour' and turned to head back to where she'd seen Libby take
K'rvey...and stopped dead in her tracks.

One of the rooms had a slightly open door, and she thought she was
seeing things. The person in it looked *so* familiar. But there was no
way....she'd been heading to another place entirely last time Sari had seen
her. She took a few steps away from the door, but something made her turn
around, and finally, step inside.

She quietly moved to the side of the bed, and clapped her hand
over her mough, biting back the cry that was so close to escaping. Ilara!
Without even thinking, her foot snagged the leg of a chair and tugged it
over where she flopped down hard into it...feeling tears coming to her eyes.
She reached out, and tenderly took her love's hand.

"Oh Ilara...what happened to you?"

She leaned over, placing her cheek against Ilara's hand, and tried
not to cry too hard.
