[DL-W] Of All The Places...

Tucker entered town with wide eyes. This town looked rich! Then
again, to a 14 year old boy, every town looked rich. The huge majestic
waterfall crashed down into the lake at the base of the Warren. The
Warren, that was the whole purpose of traveling to this town. Whiteriver
was having a hatchling and people were lining up to see the event. A
prime gathering for Tucker's line of work.... thievery!
The many towns Tucker has been through have kicked him out for
one reason or another. He passed the time by being a traveling Magician
using simple sleight of hand tricks and cantrips. A few towns ran him
out by believing in his 'magical' abilities, the other towns didn't run
him out, their thief guilds did! Tucker had a strange habbit of joining
a guild, making friends with everyone, and then robbing them blind. Not
mostly for personal gaing, but to help orphans such as himself. He gave
most of his earnings away to orphans and then kept what he needed to get
from town to town. He was smarter than keeping that much money with him
while traveling! A sure target for those who could ambush him.
Tucker ended up in the market of Whiteriver. A sudden movement
in his backpack emerged in the form of a small monkey, one of Tucker's few
friends.
"What do you want, Lydia?" whispered Tucker to his small friend.
A few chirps was his reply. "Hungry? Okay, but I don't want to get
busted before we even get to our score... so make it clean, will ya?"
Lydia climbed back into hiding as Tucker walked toward a fruit
stand. He pretended to browse the fruit stand, keeping the eye of the
owner on himself, not the monkey hand snatching fruit from the backpack
as he turned toward the owner. After a few minutes of 'browsine' the
shop owner ran him off and Tucker went willingly. Once around the
corner, Lydia came out of the backpack with a fat orange in her minute
hands. Tucker took the orange from his female friend and started out of
town.
About ten minutes out of town, Tucker cut off the trail and
towards his previous campsite. Once there, his other friend, Nitecki,
was waiting for him. Nitecki was a powerful Huskie, a dog Tucker has
been with since childhood. Nitecki has protected Tucker many times in
the past and the two formed a bond of their own. How else would a 14
year old boy with no home make it through those cold winters?
"Hi boy," called out Tucker as he entered the campground. "Miss
me?" A series of cheerfull noises came from the dog. "Thought so,"
laughed Tucker taking his backpack off. Lydia jumped from the pack and
climbed atop the Huskie's back. "Look you two," started Tucker," I want
you guys to wait here until after the hatching. I'm pretty sure they
won't allow animals in there! Anyway, if I get caught I'll need your
help getting out of jail. Understand?" The two animals let out their
own version of a 'maybe' and Tucker took that as a yes.
An hour later Tucker threw his pack back on his back and left for
Whiteriver once again. If he was to get a seat as a spectator, he had to
get there early enough to steal a ticket!
NRPG: Okay, I'm at the hatching in the spectator's area! I'll post my
bonding whenever the initial post is done <G>. I hope I got what the
city is like, I wasn't sure <G>.
