K'leev (back post to day of council)
***
K'leev stomped away from his son. That boy insisted on embarrassing him at
every turn. Well he wasn't going to put up with it much more. He would
disown the boy. He should've done that long ago. Maybe he should send him
away. Though out of respect for his mother, he really couldn't do that. He
knew he couldn't even disown him. He sighed as he made his way across the
warren floor.
He shouted in dismay as he was grabbed from behind by bright Orange-yellow
claws. "Hey!"
The dragon flew with him toward the lake as he struggled, <Bruteth, where
are you? I'm being attacked by a wild dragon.>
He had just enough time to hold his breath before the dragon dunked him in
the lake. He came up sputtering and coughing, still screaming, "Let me go!"
Just then his wish was answered and he felt himself falling to the ground.
He hit with a dull thud and rolled away quickly lest the orange dragon come
after him again.
Suddenly the large, pitch black Bruteth appeared before them, <What are you
doing to my rider.> he roared.
<Teaching him a lesson,> Aurum said.
<Perhaps I shall do that to yours as well.>
<You wouldn't dare.>
<And just what would you do about.> the dragon laughed, as he landed to
check on the health of his rider. <Beware little Aurum that you do not tick
off the wrong dragon, or you may find your tail singed!>
K'leev was sputtering, "Why are you flaming that beast!"
<She is not wild. She is just newly clutched. She doesn't know any better.>
K'leev hrmphed and said to only his dragon, <Where is her rider!>
Once Kalyth was identified, K'leev stomped over to her, "You missy, need to
learn to control your dragon!" He roared. "And don't think the Wingleader
won't hear about this!"
Thorin had watched in both horror and amusement as his father had been
dunked by Kalyth's dragon. But as he watched his father head toward the
pale young woman, he began to fear for her. He quickly moved to head of his
father, but wasn't quick enough as K'leev reached the young woman and began
berating her much as he did to Thorin.
Thorin froze waiting for the beaten look to come over the girl as it did
him whenever his father roared. He was surprised to see that it didn't. In
fact she was standing up to the large man. He was suddenly very afraid of
what his father might do to her. His feet began to move again as he placed
himself between the girl and his father. "Father .. No!"
K'leev's face moved from anger to surprise back to anger, only this time
directed at his son. "Thorin!" he roared, "Are you insane? Or do you just
enjoying embarrassing me." The big man threw his hands up in the air.
Looking to Kalyth he said, "Don't think I'm done with you yet, girl!" Then
to Thorin, "And you .." he shook his head in frustration, ".. you are a
lost cause." He stormed away.
Thorin turned to look at Kalyth, his face shattered.
<<NRPG: Well, June, how is Kalyth going to react?>>
K'leev (Morning after council meeting)
****
K'leev dressed quickly. He wanted to get to the meeting early and speak to
Trinale about Kalyth and Aurum. They needed to be disciplined for their
attack on him the day before. He'd already spoken to T'jellan. But that man
was infuriating, saying it was definitely a matter that should be handled
by Trinale.
K'leev hated the thought of leaving such an important matter to that child,
but he had no choice. As he stepped into the meeting hall he spotted the
girl talking with her junior queenrider .. the one that Thorin seemed to
think he could have a relationship with. The idea was preposterous.
"Trinale, I would like to speak with you."
The girl looked up, "What is it, K'leev?"
"There was an incident yesterday which needs your hand of discipline on."
He went on to explain the situation to the Warrenlady. "As you can see, the
girl has no control over her dragon, and really needs to be taught a lesson."
Trinale sighed, "I'll speak with her K'leev."
"I should hope so," he glanced again at the small dark queenrider next to
Trinale, and suddenly he had an idea. Something that would solve one of his
problems while leaving him with no guilt about it. "I do have another
request, Trinale."
"What is that?"
"Well, I've heard from Bruteth, of course, about the new Warren in Cleft. I
was thinking perhaps we should send Thorin. Surely they'll need healers."
<<NRPG: Kat, Arlene, any response from Trinale & Merissa?? BTW, I do *not*
want to send Thorin to Cleft. I just couldn't resist K'leev trying :}>>
Saul
****
>"Absolutely thrilled. Horse," he said conversationally, tapping his
fingers against the beast's rump, "You were supposed to keep me out of
trouble, didn't I tell you that? I was hoping, after all, that you'd at
least wake me if anything came along. Dragons count. Now, sir," and the
man swung his head over to Saul's general direction, "I'm Terau, Stupid's
rider and most recently of Agesrun town, and if you'll do me the favor of
bringing me my son, I'll be on my way away from that crazy town."
"I'm afraid, sir, that I have no idea where your son is," said Saul, quite
bewildered by the man on the horse. "But perhaps if we get you back to
Whiteriver, we can sort this whole thing out."
"We've got to get back soon anyway, Saul," said L'rian.
Saul nodded, it was after nine already, and while they'd been excused from
the meeting, Trinale made it clear, in her message to their dragons, that
she would speak to them as soon as they returned. Saul knew that L'rian,
hadn't had a chance yet to see his daughter since she returned, and was
really looking forward to seeing her again. Saul grinned, thinking it would
be nice to see his 'little flower' again.
He turned to the man on horseback, "Do you want to return with us? Perhaps
then we can find what has happened to your son. I'm not sure how easily we
can take your horse. I'm afraid if one of the dragon's tried to carry him
in their claws, he might die of fright."
<<NRPG: Mia, so are ya coming, or do you have another suggestion?>>
--Saul & Fayloth (yes, believe it or not, they are my PC's :}
****
NRPG: K'leev, 45. Large, muscular man. Brown hair, light green eyes. Dark
skin. Fairly handsome of face, but with an abrasive personality. He's
extremely confident in his own abilities. Mate, unjoined Racine (mousy,
non-descript), Children, Thorin, Mara (like her mother), and Cill(blonde
with bright green eyes, and firey temperment). Dragon: Bruteth - Black (I
didn't use Amaranth, cause I thought it was too pretty of a name to go with
K'leev :})
Racine and Mara are fairly meek and quiet, Cill is much more like her
father, and loves to torment her half-brother, Thorin.
