[DL-W] A Story, An Earthquake, A Normal Day

Tucker entered the Breakfast hall and grabbed a tray of food. He spotted
the 'newbie' table and sat with them. As he approached to introduce
himself, a familiar squeek came from the door of the hall. Tucker turned
to see Lydia, his rhesus monkey companion, rushing toward him. A quick
nod of his head was too late for the monkey's action. Lydia caught air
and landed right in Tucker's tray of food. Some splashed on Tucker's
face.

"That's twice we've seen you with food on you," called out a
random voice from behind Tucker.

Tucker turned around, trying not to look like a moron, and gave a
quick reply. "Well I wanted you guys to notice me." And quick smiles
engulfed his comrade's faces as he took his seat.

Lydia sat on his tray slurping up whatever was left of Tucker's
meal. A few giggles came from the table, and then someone asked where
Tucker got the animal.

"Well," thought Tucker of his two versions of the story he told
Trinale, "Lydia really found me. She dropped some bananas on my head in a
forest once and then never left me alone. I guess she became part of my
family."

The smiles and laughs of his peers made him appreciate the truth
he told. "I remember one time when we were down in a small village many
moons away. I went there to put on my magic show when I was... unjustly
thrown into jail. Lydia and my other companion, Nitecki, came to my
rescue."

"How'd they do it?" questioned a curious voice.

"Well," started Tucker by rolling up his sleeves and getting into
the story, "First Nitecki is a Huskie, a rather big one at that. The
jail I was in was an old one. The walls were all wood and had steel bars
in the window. Nitecki and Lydia formed a plan to spring me. He ran
into the jail and took a small bite out of the rather large Jailman.
While he kept ol' fatso occupied, Lydia here snuck in the window and tied
a rope to the bars. After that, she climbed onto a wagon seat and jumped
up and down getting the horses to run. The strength of their hooves dug
into the ground and pulled the old wooden wall down. I then cut the rope
and jumped into the wagon, which Lydia was driving! When the Jailman
looked at the jail I was once in, Nitecki snuck out the door and caught
up to us."

A few conversations and applauds rang out for Tucker's story and
Lydia's bravery. Lydia stood up and bowed.

> The conversation died as Trinale sat down, which apeared to distress her.
>
> "Look I am the same age or younger than most of you. Sometimes I just
> want to spend my time talking, gossiping, and having fun, also. So just
> keep on talking....and anyone who calls me warrenlady during this
> breakfast will be banished! My name is Trinale."
>
> Merissa found a genuine smile coming to her lips. "Glad you could join
> us!" She turned to J'red and not so sweetly said, "and here is the woman
> who can answer all your questions...", and as Merissa had guessed, J'red
> blushed perfusely and made some trivial excuses of having to check his
> gear and prepare for training--and beat a hasty retreat.

"You missed the story about how I found Lydia," Tucker spoke up
to Trinale.

"And how does that story go again?" smiled Trinale.

"You know... the one where Lydia drops the bananas!" smiled
Tucker.

"Ah, yes," laughed Trinale once more thinking of the imagery.

The table continued with their breakfast and conversations.

<LATER>

Tucker sat in his room talking to Ashe, his greyish black
Dragon. ~So then they all enjoyed my story and everyone laughed!~

*I'm so happy for you* returned Ashe. *When do we get to go
outside? I'm bored and want to go someplace.*

	~Well, training is in a little while. I think we're doing...~
Suddenly Tucker stopped in mid-thought and looked at the ground.

*Is there something wrong?* asked Ashe.

	~I swear I felt something weird.~

	*Weird?*

~Yeah, like something bad was about to happen~

	*Hmmm....*

	~Whoa!~ exclaimed Tucker. ~Did you feel that?~

*Feel what? Are you alright Tucker?*

	~Ha! Oh yeah!~ laughed Tucker.

*You're starting to scare even me, Tucker* worried Ashe.

	~5... 4... 3... 2... ~ counted down Tucker.

As if it was timed, as soon as Tucker hit one the ground errupted
into a small trimmer. The ground and the walls vibrated at a quick pace
and sent a few books and trinkets to fall off a shelf. Ashe stood up to
his feet and braced himself. Tucker rolled around on the ground laughing
through the trimmers.

When they were over, Tucker just continued laughing. Ashe, who
was wide-eyed scared from the earthquake, spoke up. *What the hell was
that?!?*

"An earthquake, silly," said Tucker out loud.

*I know that! But why... uhh... why did it happen?*

"Well some god must be angry," joked Tucker.

*Ha ha, I'm laughing... really* teased Ashe. *But how did you
know it was coming??*

~I don't know... I just felt it about to happen.~ replied Tucker.
~But let's keep this just between you and me, alright??~

*Alright... for now. But sooner or later we must tell someone.*

NRPG: Okay... what gift does Tucker have? I don't know... something.
Anyway, there's my post :) When's training?
