Saul (Afternoon of council day)
***

Saul spent the day of the counsel watching the newly joined riders. It
wouldn't be long and they would all be flying and ready to start
patrolling. Those that were flying already were make good use of the quiet
day to practice their newest skill.

Fayloth sat a short distance away making a spectacle of himself as he
preened for the little dragonet's.

<You are an incredible show-off, Fayloth>

<I'm only giving them an idea of what they might attain once day if they
work hard.> said the blue dragon smugly. While he wasn't a particularly
large dragon, he thought that his draconic handsomeness more then made up
for it.

Saul shrugged with a light chuckle and headed off to speak to K'rine, the
trainer during a break in training. Fayloth continued to preen and flaunt
himself in.

<What are you doing?> asked a sweet voice. The dragon turned to see a small
auburn dragonet staring at him.

<I am just relaxing here> the dark blue dragon said smugly, glad that he
had been noticed.

<I've never seen any dragon relax like that.> she chuckled.

<And you never will. I am one of kind.> said Fayloth.

<I am Poldera.>

<I am Fayloth.>

<Is your rider friendly. My rider is shy, she needs friends.>

Fayloth chortled, <There is no rider more friendly then mine. He is quite
handsome too, for a human.>

<Handsome?> asked the dragonet with interest. <Our riders shall have to
meet then!>

<Is your rider beautiful?> asked Fayloth.

<Of course, she is!> said the dragonet indignantly, as though the question
was completely ludicrous.

<Then my rider will meet her. He likes to meet all the beautiful women.>

(Evening of council day)

"She left?" Saul asked quietly.

Glynda nodded, "But she asked that I make sure you get this."

He nodded and took the envelope from her. Moving over to a quiet corner of
the dining hall he opened it. He frowned as he read her parting words. He
was sorry that she couldn't stay. But he was glad that she had found her
quest. Everyone needed a quest. He thought of his own quest so long ago.
He'd had plans to search ever corner of the lands in revenge over his
father's death. But the hatching of the beautiful dark blue dragon had
changed all that.

Then there had been training and patrols. And not long after that he'd
begun searching along with A'got. He'd found a new place with a new family
and other things were forgotten. Now he had responsibilities, something
that he never would have thought possible all those years ago.

"You're looking very somber this evening. That's quite unlike you, Saul,"
he heard the sweet voice behind him. He turned to see Caliban.

"Cali," he grinned. "But now I've got you to cheer me up."

She smiled, "What's wrong."

"Just got news that Titania isn't staying after all."

It was now Cali's turn to frown, "She's not? I'm sorry to hear that."

"Me too," he said quietly, "But so it goes with spirits such as her I
suppose. So where have you been hiding yourself, Sweet Cali. I haven't seen
much of you."

NRPG: Sarah, I hope I didn't take to many liberties with Poldera. If so
feel free to rewrite. :}

Les, I know you've been busy, but wanted you to know that Saul hasn't
forgotten you :}
