[DL-W] Aftermath

Trinale rushed around the med center, helping where she could, getting
bandages for the healers and generally trying to make herself helpful.
She had helped out in the med center since she was about 1o years old
during wraith attacks. Even if there were no serious injuries, there were
always small ones.

It was shortly before dinner when she decided to check one last time on
the young man who had been brought in at the beginning of the attack.
Thank goodness K'leev had gotten to him in time. He was still
unconscious, but B'ril seemed to think that was just the shock and that
he would wake soon. She wondered what he had been doing, wandering by
himself outside of Killaglen like that. She smiled though, as she saw the
dragon affinity around him. He would be welcome here if he wished to stay.
She closed the door quietly.

She then quickly checked with B'ril about supply needs and also about
Saul. Shawnee was with Saul and she didn't wish to disturb them.

"Supplies are fine, and so is Saul" B'ril chuckled. "Although, he'll be
slightly embarrassed for awhile I think."

Trinale grinned "I think I will have fun teasing him."

She then headed off for dinner, feeling the exhaudstion all the way to
her bones.

She got a tray and sunk into a seat at one of the tables, lost in
thought. She was aroused from her musings by Aradia.

"Is it all right if I sit here?"

"Of course it is," the warrenlady replied.

The two women began their meal in relative silence. Both Aradia and Trinale
were exhausted and deep in thought.

Aradia looked up from her plate, "Trinale, you haven't seen Pa'gan, have you?"

"No, and I was wondering about that... I hope he hasn't gotten himself
killed!" Trinale said "But then again, unless he was out of range of the
warren, we would know from the dragons."

"No, I don't think so... I hope not... I think he is more likely off
somewhere holding a vigil, as that is our way," she hoped with all her
might that she spoke true.

She finished her meal and looked again at Trinale, "I have a favor to ask,
could you please take me up to Pa'gan's apartment. I would like to wait for
him there."

"Of course I will, and here....." Trianle handed her the green scarf from
around her neck. "Hang this outside if you needa ride down in the
morning. " She grinned "Thats the one bad thing about not having your own
dragon yet, you get stuck sometimes." Trinale knew she needed to talk to
Aradia about standing at the next hatching. She was sure she would join.

Trinale and Aradia quickly finished their meal and went outside to mount
up on Cricket. She dropped Aradia off and then had Cricket head for the
gardens.

She dismounted and laying against Cricket soon drifted off to sleep
amongst the smells of the late blooming flowers.

*B'ril*

B'ril was sleeping on a cot set up in the med center, so he could check
on his patients. Suddenly he heard Thorin calling out for help. He flew
out of bed, rubbing sleep from his eyes and stared at the sight that met
his eyes. Thorin....and a hatchling! A very small hatchling. He quickly
guided Thorin into a room and started to examine the baby dragon while
Thorin hovered nervously.

"Get her meat! Now" B'ril quickly said to Thorin. This hatchling needed
food and water and warmth. He wrapped it in a number of blankets and gave
it a few sips of water from a bottle he had handy for such a purpose.
Thorin flew out of the room and was back with moments from the small
kitchen in the med center with a bowl of tiny scraps. The young hatchling
seemed to weak to reach for the food.

"Hold it up to her, Thorin. Feed her."

Thorin did as B'ril instructed and soon the hatchling had eaten about
half the bowel. It fell asleep. Thorin looked alarmed. "She'll be fine,
Thorin. Now why don't you tell me what happenedf and where in the world
she came from."
