[Derry]

"I have to speak with you, Trinale," came a voice from behind Derry.

He turned, keeping Trinale behind him.  The man was huge... and alcoholic 
fumes were still rising from him.  Derry swallowed against a sudden dryness 
in his throat.

"I don't think she wants to talk to anyone right now."

The man stared over his shoulder, ignoring him.  "Trinale, we need to talk."

Derry's eyes narrowed, beginning to get angry.  "I said she doesn't want to 
talk right now.  Haven't you done enough...?"

The man moved so swiftly, that Derry wasn't prepared when he was grabbed and 
lifted to the man's eyes level.  They were staring eye to eye, noses almost 
touching when the man growled, "Look.....This is between me and the women I 
love.  First I need to talk to Trinale' and then Aradia........AND I AM NOT 
LEAVING TILL I TALK TO HER."

Not by word or flash of emotion did Derry betray the searing pain that 
lanced through him.  His expression set however, despite the ridiculous 
position he was in.  Unafraid he stared into the man's eyes and spoke.

"And I told you... Trinale does not wish to speak to you.  Which word didn't 
you understand?  You have embarrased and scared her, which of course shows 
the depth of your eternal regard, I'm sure.  Your lack of concern for her 
feelings, beliefs and ideals has been excruciatingly obvious... and you say 
that you love her?  Are you sure that you understand the meaning of the 
word?"  Cool and cutting, Derry's voice dripped derision.  "And as it 
happens, it is my buisness...  The fair Trinale has asked me took keep you 
and your lovely lady away from her.  Until she decides that she wishes to 
speak to you, I suggest that you care for the lady who needs you."

I had to change some of the dialogue -- Journeyman, Derry isn't concerned 
with Pa'gan's or Aradia's sexuality -- in fact he doesn't care -- however he 
*is* very angry about Pa'gan embarassing Trinale and Aradia scaring the hell 
out of her.  Just so everyone is aware of everyone else's motivations...  
and the answer is, Derry *isn't* leaving Trinale with Pa'gan unless she asks 
him to.
