Trinale's mind had drifted towards R'han who had declined joining them,
instead staying behind with Pareth and the children. R'han may irritate
her, but he had a soft spot for children.
> The discussion was interrupted as servant brought trays of food for the
> three at the table. There was a selection of cold meats and light salads,
> all looking very tempting.
Trinale reached for a number of the tasty treats. She had just realized
she had not eaten since early this morning at the feast for Aradia.
A cloud passed over her face as she thought of Aradia.
Daltem looked at her with concern but didn't say anything. She would talk
if she felt like she could.
Trinale knew what tradgedys the young Lord had been through. There was a
sadness about him that even when he was at the warren, didn't go away
completely. She knew he loved the warren and when he was a few years
younger she had hoped he would join, as he had the affinty. But now, he
was almost too old. Besides, maybe it was for the best, he had many
responsibilities here.
Trinale finished her meal in contemplative silence. She then stood up. "I
must go. I have one other Lord to visit to spread the news of the
children."
Lord Daltem stood and escorted her back to the waiting dragon. He then
kissed the back of her hand softly. "I wish you could stay later, but I
understand."
Trinale smiled at him, then a thought struck her. "Daltem, would you like
to get to the warren a few days earlier than your caravan? I could always
have a dragon come back and get you tonight or tomorrow. We would enjoy
your company."
