[DL-W] Getting around

Late Morning, Day 13
N'lin ruefully shoved the last of the clothes he'd brought with him into the
ricketty dresser. He might not like moving, but he wasn't stupid, not after
a night of being tactically ignored. Thank the Gods he'd had some food up
there, that was all he had to say about it. It was almost embarrassing the
way his dragon had bullied him though. He'd have to invest in a long rope
or something before moving back, whenever that would be. Probably a while
after the hatching, for some reason he had the feeling that Foil was not
going to forget his fatherly duties.
He looked around one last time to make sure everything was neat and headed
out to the hatching cavern. It would probably be good pre-lunch
entertainment if nothing else. Who'd ever heard of a paternal dragon
anyway?
He paused in the enterance, letting his eyes adjust before noticing that his
dragon was absent. Merissa, however was there and he went over to say
hello.
Just as he reached her, Foil winged in, buck in mouth, and placed the beast
gently at Chrysthal's feet.
"You know," he commented with a wry smile," I think Chrysthal's getting the
better end of the deal."
"N'lin," she smiled turning to greet him. "I think you're right. She
certainly seems to be enjoying all the attention."
N'lin looked at the queenrider and risked a little emotional brush, enough
to know that she really was worried about something.
"What's wrong?" he asked with real concern, gently touching her shoulder.

Late Afternoon, Day 13
N'lin expertly sliced his way through a carot, the large knife serving as an
all purpose cutting and peeling tool. One nice thing about remembering his
past was that he also remembered how to cook. A skill not many men really
cultivated, but one he enjoyed immensely. He thought he was pretty good at
it, good enough anyway that he'd have to be more careful about his weight.
A dragon shrieked furiously outside and he gave Foil a mental prod, <What's
going on?>
<Vasra over reacted a bit to her rider being upset, that's all. She's still
rather young,> Foil added, as if that excused everything.
N'lin supposed it would, but if Foil wasn't overly upset, than he wouldn't
be either. He tossed the remains of the carrot into the lettuce bowl and
started on the peppers.
The small green, orange, and red bits slid into the bowl, just as a dragon
started howling, almost keening.
<You tell me that's just because the dragon is young, I won't give you an
oiling for a month!> N'lin shouted at his dragon in a rather rude demand for
news.
<Vasra's rider is not answering her. Areena says her rider thinks Vasra's
rider is.. catatonic.>
N'lin well understood the feeling of sympathy from his dragon, after all,
Foil had had plenty of unhappy experiences with that word, catatonic.
<I'll go see what I can do once I finish this salad. Will you take me?>
N'lin asked, starting to slice a tomato.
<Of course.>
N'lin had to almost smile at how offended Foil sounded that N'lin actually
asked to be given a rider to the med center, as if Foil wouldn't do it
immediately. And this was after being stranded in his apartment all of
yesterday.
<I'll let you know when I'm ready,> was all he said, restraining himself.
Quietly he finished up the salad, found his harp, and was pleasantly
surprised to have Foil waiting for him. He walked into the med center after
the quick flight across the warren and asked for Moira's room.
He told them he would play for her, but didn't even hint at the rest of the
things he could do. What would they think of him if they ever found out?

NRPG: Gonna stop there, gotta do some stuff. The way I figured it, Barb's
meeting was first and Moira's late afternoonish, if that's wrong, I'm sorry.
