Day 4 – late morning

"I'm sure she'd like that." Latnem opened the door and gestured
for 'Tonio to enter. He followed and shut the door behind them, then
turned toward the dragonrider. "So, what is it I can help you with?"

`Tonio paused for a moment, trying to find the correct
phrasing, "I believe that we may have a lead on the mercury poisoning
issue. However, I find myself at a loss trying to pin it down on a
particular person. I consider myself gifted when it comes to
analyzing the human condition, but this one eludes me."

"So, you need my help in trying to find out who this person
or persons could be," Latnem finished.

The Knight nodded, "As your profession is to deal with the
mind, I feel that you would be the best candidate. Whoever was
responsible for this did not care who they harmed at the warren, just
as long as it affected the warren. Who would be capable of this and
what sort of personality traits might they exhibit?"

Day 4 – late afternoon

`Tonio went back to the med center, to visit Xanthia as he
had promised. The new mother was of great interest to the Knight and
he wanted the opportunity to work with her. From what he had
witnessed as well as heard, she was at the center of a maelstrom of
attention garnered from a variety of sources. Yet she remained
almost blissfully unaware of most of it, comprehending only the
surface of what went on around her. Perring in to the room, he saw
her sitting up in the bed, holding the child in her arms, "I trust
that I'm not interrupting anything."

"No, Alina was just cold, so I'm keeping her warm," Xanthia
stated.

`Tonio walked into the room, noting the precise manner in
which Xanthia held her child, "And she is comfortable, I trust."

"Yes, I would know if she wasn't," replied the healer.

Taking a seat by the bedside, he quietly observed mother and
child. There was a certain peace when witnessing the care of young.
As he watched he recalled Latnem's words about how Xanthia seemed to
know what the child wanted. The manner in which Xanthia cared for
the child was very exacting, almost too exacting.

"Xanthia, is Alina hungry at the moment?" `Tonio said,
prompting her to look at him.

"No, Alina is tired." The manner in which she said it wasn't
a demanding tone, but rather more matter-of-fact.

<DeMarco, I believe that the child may be telepathic.>

**It's possible, I suppose. You humans can develop it
outside of bonding with us.**

`Tonio nodded, "Well, if Alina is tired, then I shall return
when I am able. Have a good evening, milady."

Exiting out of the room, `Tonio shook his head in
wonderment. He needed to share his theories with somebody, so they
could confirm or deny his suspicions. In particular Latnem or
Merissa.
