Day 5 – late evening



	"Tarv'renon," Xanthia seethed. "I just wanted to stop him. 

There was so much blood..." her voice trailed off as the tears flowed 

freely down her face.



	`Tonio's jaw tightened and DeMarco's crimson head poked into 

the room, **'Tonio.** warned the dragon.



	`Tonio looked at his steed, <Watch over Xanthia and her 

child.  I have some business to take care of.>



	Without any further delay, the Knight disappeared back into 

the tunnels.



	"Come back here, you bitch!" came Tarv's voice echoing off 

the stone tunnels, "I'm not finished with you yet!"



	`Tonio balled his hands into fists, enraged that a grown man 

would even conceive of hurting a defenseless child.  Tarv's behavior 

was inexcusable in the Knight's eyes, having been a victim of 

circumstance as a child himself.  Fortunate for him that he had been 

given to the right people.



	Listening closely to Tarv's increasingly hostile language, he 

pinpointed the man's rough location.  The tunnels were `Tonio's 

playground and he knew them very well.  Moving up an incline and 

taking a couple of turns, he spotted the disheveled Tarv 

ahead.  `Tonio growled under his breath, advanced quickly towards him.



	`Tonio made no effort to remain silent and Tarv spun around, 

a wild look in his eyes, "'Tonio!  You haven't seen Xanthia, have 

you?"



	`Tonio saw Tarv left shoulder bleeding from the knife wound 

and didn't think it was enough.  His eyes glittered 

dangerously, "Yes, she's in a safe place."



	"You don't…." was all Tarv could get out before `Tonio's fist 

slammed into his already injured shoulder.



	"You willfully hurt a child," `Tonio began, he voice taking 

on a hard edge as he jabbed another fist into the shoulder, keeping 

Tarv howling in pain.



	`Tonio sent a right cross to Tarv's jaw, dropping the man to 

his knees, "It was helpless and you tried to take its LIFE!" he 

screamed, rage now fully fueling his fury.



	A left to Tarv's temple and a knee to the jaw again, upended 

Tarv, sprawling him flat on his back, unable to defend himself at the 

quick and hard fury of `Tonio.  



	The Knight kneeled down, pinning Tarv's arms to his side with 

his knees.  Breathing heavily, `Tonio glared at the man, "So now 

we'll see if I can take yours."



	A half-dozen blows reigned down upon Tarv's face as `Tonio 

sought to beat him beyond senseless.  He lifted his fist to deliver a 

final blow when a voice cried out and a hand grappled his 

own, "'TONIO!"



	The rage lifted for a moment and `Tonio let out a cry as he 

looked at the bloodied face of Tarv, rendered unconscious by the 

assault.  Spinning around, he turned to face…..

NRPG:  Well, Tarv will likely be bedridden for awhile.  Morgie, feel 

free to determine the exact extent of his injuries.  Of 

course, `Tonio probably will need to be locked down or something, as 

he's feeling not quite himself :-p  Post on Folks!
