Day 6 – early morning



"'Tales Rude and Glorious,' A book of romantic legend and lore, just 

a fancy I read once. There were tales of these knights, rescuing 

damsels in distress, sorting out love issues," she blushed and smiled 

with youthful innocence, her eyes crinkling into crescent moons. "It 

was a secret society, naturally. Very fascinating." She began 

bandaging the wound she just salved, "Anyhow, you kind of remind me 

of those knights... Oh, *now* I remember what they were called!!!" 

Xanthia exclaimed.

	`Tonio kept his composure as the healer told him of the book 

she had read.  The book she had mentioned was a work of non-fiction, 

a group of stories that had been gathered by various Knights.  

However, the nature of the tales seemed so improbable that the book 

instead was transformed into a work of fiction.  `Tonio shook his 

head, "Truth is stranger than fiction," he muttered quietly.



	Xanthia looked at him, "What did you say?"



	`Tonio smiled, "I have read that book as well milady and was 

recalling some of the stories.  I suppose that my actions may have 

been similar to those…."



	"Knights of Passion…." Xanthia finished helpfully.



	"Ah, yes, that's what they were called.  I was having some 

difficulty remembering," 

Tonio replied.



	"Well, you even have their tattoo," Xanthia continued.



	`Tonio nodded, "Well, I do have a tattoo – a sword and a 

heart over my own heart."



	"Yes, just like the Knights of Passion did.  It was an 

identifying mark.  I saw it when you took that nasty cut from that 

man and it stirred my memory," Xanthia said.



	"And quite a memory you have, milady," `Tonio replied.  



	Xanthia continued bandaging him in silence for a couple more 

minutes before she spoke again, "So, are you?"



	`Tonio groaned inwardly at the lady's tenaciousness, "Am I 

what, milady."



	"A Knight of Passion.  The way you came to my rescue, the 

tattoo, the way you act.  You certainly seem like one," she said 

hopefully.



	Taking a deep breath and sighing, `Tonio looked at 

her, "Well, I'll let you decide that for yourself, milady.  However, 

if you decide that I am one, then you must keep it to yourself.  As 

you said yourself, they are a secret society."
