He stared at her liking the way she cowered uncomfortably under his gaze.
He had the urge to laugh , but knew that would spoil the mood. So he merely
glared, letting her shift uncomfortably.

"I'll go back to my room now." She moved to slip past him.

He caught her arm, "Wait."

She looked up at him, her eyes wide as a scared doe .. a lovely shade of
brown too. "Sir .."

"I'm a lord you know. I could have you thrown in the dungeon for stealing."

"I never .."

"Doesn't matter. My brother did it all the time. Now I'm  in his place, so
can I?" He stared down at the girl noticing a bit of a defiant air about
her now that he'd threatened her.

"I'm a dragonrider .. I have no need to steal."

"Oh? You're a dragonrider?" He grinned. "How interesting." He released her
arm. "I apologize for accusing you of such a thing. But you must
understand, I've had so many things stolen lately. These rooms, being
unoccupied seem to be hit the hardest. I've tried to catch the thieves, but
it's been difficult."

Belarade straightened herself and nodded, "I understand and I am sorry.
I'll go now."

"Please, wait," Gerard said putting on a charming smile. Bella took note
that his smile lacked alot of the best features of his brother Darril, but
it was a nice enough smile. "I've not had the opportunity to entertain a
dragonrider yet. Though I've extended my hospitality to your Warrenlady."

"I'm sure she's been busy .."

"Undoubtedly." Gerard said amiably. "I would love the opportunity to show
you the high regard I have for your Warren. Perhaps you can relay that to
Lady Rhiannion, so that she knows I have only the best intentions." His
eyes lit up. "You like this room? I can show you one even more splendid. It
will be my wife's when she arrives."

I'm a little unclear as how to fit events into the timeline so this is
