[Aelxirn and Daltem]
> >"Now...you will answer the question I asked you. Who else was invited?
> >And as you also said that there were going to be other Lords and Ladies
> >there....I'm assuming that this is some sort of meeting of the Nobility.
> >In which case, you'd also have invited Lady Kedrina, the new Titleholder
> >of Nambril Villiage, is this correct?"
>
> Daltem smiled inwardly. Just as his mistress had hoped, Aelxirn till had
> a fighting spirit and was just as ambitious. He slid his knife back into
> his boot take great care that Aelxirn stayed unaware of its precence.
Aelxirn listened as Daltem spoke, and his interest was piqued by the
mention of Lothar. Seems this was going to be a meeting of the displaced.
As Lothar also had no lands to speak of...though he still had his title.
> "I have no more messages to deliver and will be returning straight to
> the Tellari estate. If you are in need, I have the money to purchase a
> horse for you." With that Daltem stood up.
Aelxirn snorted, and shook his head as he looked up at the messenger.
"Thank you, but no, I *do* still have a well-bred horse that belongs to
me. And I'm a capable rider."
Then he arched a brow. "What's your rush? If this meeting is so
important...why didn't you bring all those that were invited along with
you? Instead of just leaving them to follow? Mighty inconsiderate of
your 'Lady', if I do say so. She invites, she should also have everyone
show up together....unless...there is something planned for each 'guest'
as they arrive independently of each other?"
But Daltem was in the process of leaving. Aelxirn thought quickly, and
decided that *he*, for one, wasn't going to be tricked or trapped alone
anywhere. And decided that he'd accompany this messenger back to the
Tellari estate as soon as he could get to his horse.
> "Now if you excuse me sir it is a long journey back to the estates and I
> have ridden hard today. In shall see you in the morning." Daltem turned
> to leave, but spun on his foot to face Aelxirn, his arm was outstretched
> towards Aelxirn.
>
> Aelxirns tankard was sent flying accross the table spilling the cheap ale
> everywhere. A knife stood quivering in the table where the tankard had
> been.
>
> "Threaten me again, *sir*, and it won't be the table I stick the knife
> in. I am not some dog for you to kick on a whim." Daltem turned and this
> time did walk away, but his hand stayed ready on his sword hilt.
Aelxirn blinked, but to his credit, did not flinch, or move. He simply
nodded, and stood slowly, moving to follow Daltem as he did so, wanting
not to alarm him into further actions. This one was like him in many
ways. And maybe it would do him good to get to know Daltem better.
"Wait a moment. If you're going back to the Tellari estate, why not let
me ride along with you? There's no need for me to have to follow you out
in the morning, when we can travel just as well together. Besides...I
have a few more questions, and you can answer them on the way."
Gesturing at the door...Aelxirn smiled. "My horse is in the stables.
It won't take me long to get him, then we can go."

[The warren green]
< Sarilyn >
> Billy's eyes lit up at H'lies words. If they were going to get measured
> up for saddles and the like, then that must mean that the dragons were
> almost ready to fly!
Sarilyn caught the look on Billy's face, and wondered what was going on
in his mind. That grin usualy meant fun, or trouble.
> "pssst!" said Sarilyn trying to catch Billys attention.
> "Hi!" said Billy.
> "Whats humouring you?"
> "What do you mean?" asked Billy innocently.
> "You had a grin for ear to ear! You're planning something aren't you?"
> accused Sarilyn.
> "Well just a little trip into town when Chai can fly. Fancy comming
> along?" asked Billy.
> "Which town?" asked Sarilyn.
> "I don't know. Hey H'lie?" Billy called over to H'lie who was showing
> M'tok where the saddle should sit on a dragon.
Her attention momentarily taken with watching H'lie's actions
regarding saddles, Sarilyn blinked as Billy called H'lie, for what reason
she had no idea.
> "Yes Billy?" said H'lie wearily.
> "We wondering, our dragons are going to be flying soon right?"
> "In a couple of days - yes." said H'lie, Billy could hear the suspicion
> in H'lies voice.
> "If we wanted to fly somewhere, say like a town. You know to show our
> dragons someplace different than the warren. What town should we go to?"
Visiting a town! Sarilyn's thoughts flew rapidly. Then she shrugged,
and turned to listen to the conversation between Billy and H'lie.
<< You're thinking of your home, aren't you? >>, the thought softly
entered her mind from Lunath. << You miss it and your Mother? >>
Glancing quickly at her dear blue, Sarilyn sent a mental nod, and a sigh
with it. << Yes, love, I do. But that's not my home any more, this
Warren is. But I have to admit, visiting Nambril, and seeing everyones'
faces when I land in the villiage square on your back will give me immense
satisfaction. And of course, popping in to say hello to Mother will be
very nice. I'm wondering what she's done since Father is gone. >>
Lunath crooned, butting gently against her rider. << You miss him too,
don't you? >>
A soft << Yes, I do. >> was all that Lunath got by way of a reply.
Then she turned her attention back to hear H'lie's reply.
> H'lie stood there and rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
> "Let me guess you're bored?"
> "Well not exactly - it's Chai'lynn she's as bored as hell."
Lunath turned her head towards Chai, and rumbled softly..giving her a
soft head butt. << Are you bored too? I want to feel the wind in my
face, and be able to see from up high, not from down here on the ground!
Can't we try *something*? >>
