[DL-X] The battle rages

Lax struggled to keep his urges under control His rider needed him, and
now was not the time to go chasing after females, no matter how
beautiful.
<Sorry lover boy, may next time.> He felt J'res shift and his comforting
hand scratched Lax's neck in just the right place. Still he followed
Lunath closly.
<<Next time>> Lax whined, watching the mating flight draw to an end.
Then a message came from Queri, the pain and rage that filled this
message was so strong it filtered through Lax to fill J'res' mind.
>Queri broadcast the throught to all
>dragons, her sorrow and her helpless rage coloring her thoughts with
>scarlet and black. < Kill them, my children, my brethren. Kill them
>and let us mourn. >
>And even before the flames erupted from all sides, sending Innel's
>children screaming to the earth, Queri began to keen for their loss,
>and for the horror of what she had commanded.
Shock drove all thoughts of mating out of Lax's head. He keened in
sorrow even as he dove for nearest dragon. The flames that spurt from
his gaping maw might just of well been melting through his own hide, so
strong was his revulsion and pain at killing another dragon. Tears
blinded J'res as he shared his lifemate's sorrow. Waves of nausea
rippled through Tleilaxu as his breath blackened draconian skin. After
letting loose with a final billow of flame Lax pulled up and curved away
from the carnage. All around him the mornful song of the dragons rang.
One voice that stood out in the mass. The voice of his new queen. The
voice that had ordered the killing. His heart went out to the
quicksilver queen. He didn't think he would have had the strength to do
what was nessasary.
He watched her as she hovered in the center of her femine honor gaurd.
They could morn properly later, it was not yet finished. He turned his
massive head checking quickly on his rider. <<Hold on chosen, we fly to
battle again.>>
He scanned the skies searching for any of the rogues. Fire lit his
eyes, and licked around his nostrals. The humans had done this. It was
always their fault, with their scheming and plotting. Never happy with
their place in life. If it wasn't for them dragon would never kill
dragon. He would find the one responsible, and make sure they never
caused another dragons death.
NRPG: Just a quick little POV post to try and keep up.
