Halyn
-----

> Carlynee crinkled her nose at Halyn's mirth at her expense and decided
>to change the subject. She reached slowly for the tarp, speaking in a
>suspenseful tone, "And now, for your viewing enjoyment ... what's the
>matter Halyn?"

> Carlynee looked concerned as Halyn's face took on a decidedly odd look
>and the artisan fought back a sense of foreboding.

Halyn's face had just fallen, her relaxed smile turning into a frown of
concern. Her eyes were on Carlynee, but they were distant. Like she was
listening to something else. She swung around to look towards the
entrance of the Hatching cavern, as if she heard something out there.

Carlynee followed Halyn's gaze just in time to see an entire wing of
dragons take flight with some urgency. The off-white form of Ce'lot's
Britche was leading the way while Iralyn's sea-green Coriandreth passed
rather closely to the entrance of the cavern as she rose skywards.

Both girls could see that Iralyn was not alone on Coriandreth's neck. A
tall form with black hair was behind her.

"Oh, my..." Carlynee's low voice broke Halyn's reverie and she turned to
the other girl.

"Iralyn's upset," Halyn stated, turning once more to see the entire wing
disappear as the teleported away.

"Upset?" Halyn's attention was once more brought around to Carlynee as
the girl spoke, "What's she upset about?"

Halyn chewed with concern on her lip, her brow furrowed into a scowl,
"Well, for one thing... that was Frelan on her dragon with her. From
what I can get from the conversation she's having with Coriandreth, he's
not supposed to be there. She's on duty. They're on some sort of urgent
assignment."

Carlynee's eyes widened and she dropped the corner of the tarp she'd been
holding, "Urgent assignment?" She took a few steps toward Halyn, "What
could be so urgent, Haly?"

Shaking her head, Halyn turned and moved towards the entrance. The wing
of dragons was long gone, but down below they could see another half-wing
or so preparing to leave, "I... I'm not sure. They teleported before I
could get the whole thing. Something about Sarilyn..."

As her words left her lips, they saw Lunath's blue form on the green.
She was riderless, bugling in distress as other dragons around her made a
feeble attempt to calm her. With another confused and infuriated
trumpet, Lunath took to the air, gaining just enough altitude to teleport
before blinking out of sight.

Carlynee moved forward to Halyn's side, her eyes widening as they watched
the blue female disappear, "Haly... this can't be good. Why would Lunath
be so upset that she'd leave without Sarilyn..." Her voice faltered and
she tore her gaze away from the green, "You don't think something
happened to... to..."

In a shot Carlynee was bolting down the stairs leading from the Hatching
Cavern to the Green. Halyn reached for her, but failed to catch the
other girl before she ran, "Carl, wait!"

Carlynee either didn't hear or chose to ignore her. Halyn darted down
the stairs after her friend, catching up to her as they ran across the
green towards the offices. She grabbed Carlynee's sleeved arm and pulled
her to a halt.

"Carl, we can't go bothering the Warrenlady, bugging her for
information. If there is something serious going on, she'll not only
know about it, but she'll be too busy to explain anything to us!"
Halyn's eyes were wild as she looked about the green, trying to decide
what they should do.

To their luck, H'lie had seen them coming towards the offices and was now
moving quickly to intercept. He ushered them off to the side,
speaking to them in hushed tones.

"Alright, you two. Where are you going in such a hurry? Warrenlady Rhia
can't be disturbed right now."

"H'lie, please!" Carlynee protested, "We have to know... what's going on
with Sarilyn? Why isn't she with Lunath?" She pointed to where the blue
dragon had disappered just minutes before.

H'lie shook his head, "Don't you go worrying about..."

Halyn cut him off, "H'lie, my sister is in that wing that just
disappeared. I *know* it has something to do with Sarilyn."

H'lie arched an eyebrow and regarded Halyn curiously, "And how, exactly,
do you know that, hmmm?"

Halyn shut her mouth and flushed a furious red, looking over at
Carlynee. The other girl watched wide-eyed, for only she knew of the
telepathic bond between the twin sisters. Finally, Halyn turned back to
H'lie and shrugged.

"Iralyn told me, of course," she lied, glancing at Carlynee to see how
she'd react. Carlynee looked nothing short of relieved at Halyn's words,
turning her attention back to H'lie as well.

H'lie considered the response for a moment, the frowned, muttering a
small curse about twins to himself before responding to their questions,
"Alright, I'll tell you. Sarilyn has been kidnapped. Lunath hadn't been
able to hear her for quite some time, which means that Sarilyn is
probably hurt. Perhaps even medicated."

The girl's eyes grew wide, Carlynee piping up, "So, that's why the wing
left? To go find Sarilyn?"

H'lie shook his head, "Lunath heard Sarilyn for only a moment this
morning. Seems that Sarilyn told her where she was and now the wings are
going there to get her."

"But, H'lie... where is..." Halyn was interrupted by a defiant,
ear-shattering bellow. As they all watched, the huge metallic form of
Queri shot skyward, following the now disappearing dragons of the Beta
wing. In a blink, she was gone.

H'lie's eyes grew wide and he turned on his heel, not saying another word
to the girls as he stormed into the offices.

Halyn and Carlynee exchanged glances, then quickly followed.

Iralyn
------

As first Lunath, then Queri appeared with half of Beta wing, Iralyn's
concern grew to a most serious level.

*Why is Queri here, Cori?*

<She comes to protect her daughter. She comes to protect Lunath.>

Iralyn watched as Lunath's color changed before their eyes, brightening
to a vibrant blue-green as she forced herself further into the sky.
Suddenly, bellowing, excited males of all shades were airborne, flying
after the glowing blue female.

Iralyn dismounted, pulling Frelan along with her.

"Ira, what's going on?" He tore his gaze away from the airborne dragons
to look at the girl beside him.

Iralyn's look was one of impatience. She stated in a low voice,
"Lunath's rising. Oh, perfect timing."

<My rider, I must go protect Queri. Too much is going on here.>

*What do you mean, Cori? What's going on?*

As the sea-green dragon spread her enormous wings, beating them as she
launched herself, she replied, <Lunath rising to mate. Eggs hatching.
Must protect Queri...>

"Eggs hatching?!" Iralyn replied out loud, calling up to her dragon,
"Eggs hatching *where*!?"

Her eyes darted to meet Frelan's, but he was looking over her head
towards an entrance to the Tellari Estate. Staring wide-eyed, he
stammered, "Iralyn... is... is that Manda?"

Iralyn's gaze followed Frelan's pointing finger. A group of young people
were being herded into the estate by what appeared to be soliders. To
the outside of the group and towards the back, Iralyn could make out the
familiar golden blonde head.

Her eyes widened in shock, "I... I think it is... Frelan, no!!"

She reached for him but he was already jogging across the landing field,
darting in and out, around dragon forms and riders alike. Some glanced
at him curiously, a few even calling out, "Hey, wait!" as they reached
for him in an attempt to stop him.

Iralyn darted after him after a glance at Coriandreth. Her sea-green
form was visible with those of Molla, Primeta, Senna, and Cholla, all
surrounding Queri's large bulk in the sky.

As the group of young people and soldiers disappeared into the estate,
Frelan hesistated. Moving up to the entrance, he glanced over his
shoulder. The wingleader was in a heated conversation with a
well-dressed man who looked like some sort of noble.

The other riders were watching them for the most part. Iralyn had
stopped running when she reached the edge of the group of dragons and was
staring at him, along with another rider he didn't recognize.

Turning, he peeked around the edge of the entrance. He could see the
backs of the soldiers that were leading the group away. Quietly, he
moved to follow them.

Always staying about twenty feet behind the group, he found he could
easily hide behind a column along the hallway. The group was being led
into the depths of the Tellari Estate. They were quiet, but as they
rounded a corner one blonde girl, Manda, turned and looked him directly
in the eye for half a moment before disappearing from sight.

He blinked in suprise, then continued to follow. The group was herded
into a large room, soldiers right behind them. They all went inside the
room, two of the soldiers posting themselves just inside the door.

Frelan stepped around the corner, pasting himself to the wall. As he
quietly moved forward he could hear the commotion from inside. There was
rumbling and joyous bugles as well as screams of terror that were
painfully human. His eyes widened and his brow furrowed as he tried to
discern exactly what was happening...

He reached the doorway and could see diagonally that there was a guard on
the far side. Sure that there was a matching one just behind him, Frelan
moved with extreme caution, pulling his head around just enough to see
what was going on inside.

The sight made his jaw drop.

The first thing that caught his attention was the massive form of the
metallic queen dragon in the center of the room. She was laying down,
regal and proud, even with all the activity around her.

A large number of dragon eggs in various stages of hatching surrounded
the queen. Some were rocking violently, others had young dragons
emerging, and some were just shards scattered on the ground.

Squawking, hungry Hatchlings were moving away from the clutch. The young
people had been scattered about in a makeshift circle around the eggs. A
few of them were simply standing there, not moving. Some looked at the
ground, while others watched in fascination as eggs hatched and young
dragons searched for their lifemates. Others were screaming in terror,
being held in place by strong soldiers.

He scanned the group of people, his eyes falling on the golden blonde
Manda. She was standing alone, head held high in defiance. Before her,
a large egg cracked, then split in two. A glistening, glittery silver
metallic Hatchling shook off her shell. Her gaze didn't waver as she
moved forward towards the petite girl.

Manda stared at the young queen, her face that of a statue, no expression
at all. The sparkley silver dragon stopped before her, blinking once.
She trumpeted something that Manda seemed to understand. The girl's
stoney face faltered as she took a step forward, putting her hands under
the chin of the dragon before her.

Frelan couldn't hear, but she was sure that Manda said the dragon's
name. She looked frightened, but somewhat relieved as she stood there,
caressing the head of the silver queen she'd just joined with.

"Just what the hell do you think you're doing?!"

Frelan froze, looking up into unshaven, cruel face of the soldier posted
just on the other side of the door from him. He swallowed hard, adam's
apple bobbing.

"I... uh... I was just..."

The soldier grabbed him by the collar, hauling him upright and letting
him dangle there for a minute.

"You were just *what*?" he asked gruffly.

(NRPG: Tag Billy and everyone else!)

(More NRPG: Thought I'd throw in an evil queen rider to add to Tellari!
Manda is a selfish, spoiled wench who's used to getting her way and loves
to get revenge! RP her as you will! Her bio follows. NOTE: She's only
NPC and I don't plan to play with her much. Just someone to add to this
and future plots :)

Respectfully submitted,
