[The morning after the attack on the Tellari Estate and Sarilyn's,   
Billy's and Ilara's bad dreams]

Billy clambered to his feet early in the morning feeling no the better   
for his disrupted nights sleep. He took a quick shower and got dressed.
<C'mon Chai lets go and see someone about my mother.> said Billy.
<Who?> asked Chai.
<Well she looked pretty bad yesterday, lets try Nineve.> said Billy   
already on his way. They made their way accross the green towards the med   
centre.
<Hey ahng on a sec Billy I think Lunath is on her way.> said Chai. Sure   
enough Sarilyn and Lunath appeared on the warren on their way from the   
dinning hall.

"You up to anything Billy?" asked Sarilyn sliding her arm around Billy's   
waiste.
"I erm, well I was going to see my mother." said Billy avoiding making   
eye contact with Sarilyn.
"Oh." said Sarilyn "Do you want to be alone with her?" asked Sarilyn.
"I don't know, no I think. I don't know her, and well she's not ecaxtly   
made a good impression, I might need your support if you don't mind."   
said Billy looking up. He knew  that Sarilyn would find it difficult but   
the only other person he could ask was Tiera and well, she wasn't exactly   
in his good books either.
"Of course I'll come Billy, I don't hink she'll be pleased to see me."   
Together with their dragons they made their way to the med centre,   
slightly saddened at the charred outbuildings and lawn that bore witness   
to Sherri and Innels attack the day before.

Billy knocked loudly on the door into Nineves office.
"Come in." said a tiered and weary voice. Bilyl walked in followed   
closely by Sarilyn. Nineve sat at her desk looking like she hadn't slept   
a wink all through the night.
"Are you OK?" asked Sarilyn.
"Me, yes I'm fine. I've just had to look after all the wounded that the   
mad woman injured." said Nineve, instantly regretting what she had said   
as she remembered who the mad woman was.
"I'm sorry Billy, I shouldn't have said that. I've just not slept and   
well I'm sorry."

"That's OK, it's not as if I know her."
"I suppose you want to see her don't you Billy?" said Nineve. "I was half   
expecting you last night." Billy didn't reply, he just shrugged his   
shoulders. Sarilyn grabbed his hand and squeezed it tight.
"I don't know whether I should let you see her, I should really ask Rhia,   
but if I do that then she might say no and I think you have a right to   
see you mum."
"Thanks." said Billy gratefully looking up at Nineve.
"She's through there Billy." said Nineve pointinh to a private room off   
to one side. Billy started to walk towards the door.

"Sarilyn," said Nineve clutching Sarilyn shoulder. "she's been restrained   
and there is a guard with her. She's a dangerous woman and I'm not going   
to take any chances with her. Be there for Billy she's taken the loss of   
Innel badly." Sarilyn nodded and followed Billy into the room.

Sherri lay on the bed, held down by leather straps. A guard sat in a   
chair in the corner of the room. The windows were shuttered and the only   
illumination was a lamp on the bedside next to Sherri.

Sherri turned her head half heartedly to see who had entered, expecting   
to see Nineve. She was pale and a little gaunt, a former shadow of   
herself.
"Mum?" said Billy as quietly as a mouse.
"William?" said Sherri a lone tear running down her cheek.
"No it's Billy, no-one calls me William." said Billy "Why did you do it?"   

"I, it's difficult to explain I wanted justice. I know now that it was   
foolish, I'm sorry Billy."
"No, why did you leave me?"
"I was driven out of the warr..."
"You could have come back for me, I've been alone since dad died. You   
must have known that he had died."
"Yes, yes I did." said Sherri faintly.
"Why didn't you come back for me, what kind of mother are you?" said   
Billy angrily.
"I'm sorry I am truely sorry Billy, I've been a very poor mother."
"No, you've been no mother at all! You're nothing but a selfish bitch   
who's more bothered about getting revenge that seeing her own son."   
snapped Billy.
"Billy you don't understand." pleaded Sherri.

"Dam right I don't, look where it's got you. I've wanted to know who my   
mum was ever since I can remember, I knew that H'lie and Tiera were   
keeping something from me now I know why. You kidnap my friends, plot   
against my family..."
"I am your family Billy, nothing can change that."
"No you're no-one, the warren is *my* family. They brought me up and   
looked after me, not you! You're nothing and..." Billy started to choke   
as tears started to run down his face. "I, I wish you'd never come back!"   
said Billy and turned to leave, Sarilyn looked at Sherri with a look of   
loathing.

"I hope you're satisfied, you don't know how  much it meant to Billy to   
know who you were, adn this is what he found. I hope you're happy with   
yourself!"  said Sarilyn and turned to follow Billy out of the med   
centre.

Sherri rested her head back on the pillow, and cried.

"Billy wait!" called Sarilyn as Billy started to run towards his   
apartment. He stopped and waited. Sarilyn caught up slightly out of   
breath, Billy was crying freely ad looked more upset than Sarilyn had   
ever seen him. She held her arms out and Billy flung himself into them,   
crying into Sarilyns sholder as she held him tight.
