< Billy and Sarilyn >

> "Thanks for being with me when I saw my mum."
> "It was nothing, you'd have done the same."
> "I know, but thanks anyway." said Billy squeezing Sarilyns hand.   
> Impulsively he leaned closer and kissed Sarilyn.

  Sarilyn went wide-eyed at the kiss, as she'd not been expecting it.  She
hadn't even been thinking of anything close to it, to be honest, and her
face went pink.  Though if you asked, she'd never be able to tell if it
was from shock or excitement.

  Lunath crooned softly, and wriggled.  She looked quite happy over this
little turn of events.

> The kiss lasted for what seemed an eternity. Billy broke away his face   
> slightly flushed, and his eyes gleaming brightly.
> "What was that for?" asked Sarilyn smiling at Billy.
> "That was for yesterday." said Billy looking at his feet. "I, I err, I   
> really like you Sarilyn. I, well, er, would you. Well I know its all a   
> bit, well....."

  Looking intently at Billy, Sarilyn waited for him to gather his
thoughts.  Her curiosity was quite high, and she all but trembled as both
she and Lunath almost bounced.

> <Spit it out you dolt!> said Chai
> <Butt out you over grown lizard!> retaliated Billy
> 
> "What  want to say is, will you go out with me?"

  A beaming smile crossed the young rider's face, and she hugged Billy
tightly.  "Yup.  I was wondering if you were ever going to ask me."  Her
arm slipped around Billy's shoulders, and she glanced at both of their
dragons, who were looking quite smug all of a sudden.

  "I think they had something to do with this, but I also have an idea."

  Billy grinned.  "What idea is that?"

  Sarilyn winked, and gave both Lunath and Chai a scritch.  "Well..why
don't we *all* go to the lake, and have a swim?  We can give these two a
bath at the same time.  What do you say, Billy?"

  Billy nodded enthusiastically.  "I say, let's do it!  Race ya!"  And
before Sarilyn was able to think, Billy was off at a run, Chai at his
heels.  She laughed, and took off after the pair, followed by Lunath.

  They all arrived at the lake, and both dragons went in with a splash.
Billy watched Sarilyn with a puzzled look as she tugged off her boots.
"Umm...Sarilyn, what are you doing?"

  The young girl turned with a teasing wink and giggled.  "Billy!  Surely
you don't think I'm going to get my clothes all wet, now do you?"  And her
pants and tunic were tossed in a heap, before she dove in the water with a
happy yelp.

  Billy blinked with the suprise of it.  And this earned him a giggle from
Sarilyn.

  "Billy, you weren't all that shy yesterday.  Now get in here, the water
feels great!"

  Chai gave him a mental poke.  << Well..what are you waiting for? >>
