*Belarade*

<Why didn't you tell him that you missed him?> Menia pushed.

<Menia, I'm sick of always being the one to 'fess up to my feelings... Why
couldn't he tell me?>

The dragon sighed wearily as she landed beside Bella's family's home. <You
both are being stupid...I just don't understand it...>

<You're just thinking about curling up with Britche that's all...>

"Bella!" her sister popped out of some bushes and Belarade smiled. "Take me
to the hatching!"

"What?" Bel blinked. "What do you know about eggs hatching?"

Anadia smiled a secretive smile as Menia raised her head to roar chorusing
with the other dragons in the vicinity.

"Ah...well then..." Bel grinned. "The hatching it is then..."

*B'Lin*

He slumped in the saddle, like a sentenced man.

<Cheer up B'Lin!> Glay demanded as he swooped and soared through the clouds.
<Tomorrow is your wedding day...>

<Tell me about it> the rider said glumly. <My freedom....gone...>

<Your freedom should have been gone the moment you invited that girl to move
in with you> the dragon chastised.

B'Lin rolled his eyes and then slid out of his saddle. <Wait here, while I
round up a priest>

<I don't think a bar is a place that men of the cloth hang out...> Glay
snorted as he turned B'Lin around with his tail.

B'Lin grumbled and stumbled into a small chapel, looking around awkwardly as
he removed his hat.

"Can I help you?" a nun walked up to him smiling.

"Yeah...I need a priest.....I need one, fairly quickly too."

"Is everything all right?" the elderly woman look turned to concern.

B'Lin nodded. "Yeah, I just need one to hook me up with the mother of my
child."

"Hook you up?"

B'Lin was now getting frustrated. "Yeah, you know...hooked
up...hitched...ball and chain and all of that..."

"I see," the nun answered hesitantly. "Why don't you...follow me? I'll see
if Father Renaud is available."

Bella smiled as she watched her sister feed the newly hatched dragonet.

"What's her name?" she asked her beaming sister.

"Marbles," Anadia answered as she smoothed her hand over the white and black
marblized scales.

"A wonderful name...very fitting..." Bella ran her hand over the dragon
baby's snout. "She's beautiful....you should be proud..."

She could feel her pill start to wear off, the chills almost causing her to
shudder.

"Are you okay Bel?" Anadia asked as she watched her sister shake. "Need
Ce'Lot to come and warm you up..."

"You have a wicked streak in you, Ana... Remind me to warn mama."

Bella dug in her pocket and pulled out of the blue and white speckled pills
before popping it in her mouth.

<Bel?> Menia nudged her mentally. <What are you doing?>

<I just need a little extra boost...that's all...I'm dragging...>

"Going to the banquet?" a deep voice asked behind her.

"Yeah..." Bel nodded as she smiled just a little at Ce'Lot. "I am..."

"I could walk with you....if you want..."

"Why wouldn't I want it?" Bella looked at him increduously.

"I don't know....I think...just at the lake..."

"I was naked..."

"It's not the first time, I've seen you with no clothes on..." Ce'Lot
reminded her gently.

"I know....but...we're not really....together anymore..." Bel whispered.
"It's different now..."

B'Lin walked in grinning to the Banquet dragging a frightened priest along
with him.

"Hey! Look what I got! It's a priest! And he's going to marry me and
Lecia," he announced.

<Tag to anyone at the party!>

She tore from them feelings they had not known they had.
She sang to them as if she were as ancient as the Earth, as
if all the pain of a millennia of humanity had passed through
her, leaving her scarred but whole, leaving her wise but
hopeful. And so they sang back to her what they could not
keep within themselves; they sang their exultation, their
admiration, their gratitude; most of all they sang their own
hope; rekindled by her song, though they had not known
they needed hope; had not known that they had ever
despaired.
