[DL-X] It was... a new age

[Med Centre, Morning day 2, Ilara and Sarilyn]

<Hungry!> Erkvinen woke Ilara next morning, and instinctively she knew
she'd slept a little late. She felt an incredible warmth next to her,
and as her eyes opened she smiled warmly at Sarilyn who woke at more or
less the same time.

<Be there in a minute, Erk!> Ilara beamed, feeling unusually well-
spirited... but there were plenty of reasons. "Morning," she breathed,
grasping Sarilyn's shoulders and kissing her gently, then pulling her
into a brief but tender hug.

"Get dressed," she smiled, rolling out and reaching for the clothes
she'd been brought. Ilara had no kind words to decribe them. "Yeuch.
I guess they'll do for breakfast, mm?" she added cheerily, ogling
Sarilyn's generous curves even as they were covered. *If I could just
introduce her to some exercises, improve her tone a little...* she
thought critically.

As if trying to incite her to just that, Ilara did a few gentle
stretches to wake up her muscles, subtly adding a wiggle that nobody
could miss. She smiled at Sarilyn, who seemed to wonder what she was
doing.

[Dining hall]

<Erk, you have enough there?> Ilara asked as she ate voraciously. She
hadn't been this hungry in ages... seated next to Sarilyn, she felt very
excited.

<Fine... I think if anything, you're hungrier'n me for a change, love!>

Maybe she and Sarilyn wouldn't strictly be mates, but they were
certainly closer than friends, she had to remind herself. It was that
closeness that they'd shared yesterday, that was etched into her
memories vividly.

Ilara gave Sarilyn a comforting squeeze as she finished up, returned her
dishes, and made for the door. *Training's about to begin,* she
frowned, hurrying as fast as she could.

She blinked as she gazed at Erkvinen. Maybe she hadn't noticed in the
last few days, but the metallic red queen was an awful lot bigger than
when she'd hatched. Ilara could tell there was some growing still to
come... her untiring feeding _had_ been worth it.

*Someone later-rising than us?* she blinked as Neryssa passed her on the
way out, yawning widely. Ilara shrugged and headed out to where H'lie
was waiting with a fair complement of the class, Erk following at her
side.

<Do you think it's fair?>

<'lara, don't complicate things so. Lunath's rider offered to take the
blame, just leave it. You can always make it up to her later on...>

Ilara smiled widely in spite of herself. "I can at that," she murmered,
lusty thoughts flashing into being. She'd almost have to see Sarilyn
alone for a bit today... that would almost be too easy, since the girl
was her assistant.

"Ilara, pay attention," H'lie prompted as the queenrider's attention
flickered and died.

*Carlynee!* Different, older feelings came flooding back. This would
pose an interesting dilemma... to be honest, she still ached for Carl.
She'd never really known any two people long enough to be involved with
the both... no, make that three. She remembered her blistering night
with Chelea, which had been a delightful torture of ecstasy that she
still wished for.

<'lara, I think the trainer is mad at you.>

Ilara snapped back to facing the front, and indeed H'lie was talking to
her, and not looking too pleased about her daydreaming. She sighed.
*I'm supposed to be setting an example for the others.* It hit her
abruptly... she'd never been in that kind of position before, and now it
damned well mattered what she did because if the Junior Queenrider could
get away with it, anyone could...

<Erk love, tell H'lie I'm really sorry, and I mean it!> she flushed
embarrassedly. No doubt, since they'd be going over why you shouldn't
stray too far from your dragon, it applied to her and she ought to make
it look as if she was sorry. Especially when she was!
