[DL-X] First Flight

[In the air, Afternoon Day 2]

        <Well?>

Ilara looked down and her stomach lurched. <We're flying!> she
exclaimed, terribly queasy as they nipped through the air at a terrific
pace, turning and soaring and dipping and banking.

<Don't be so worried love! Keep your eyes ahead or higher. I
can see what's below us, you know...>

<Okay.> Better, but it still felt odd.

<This bit's fun,> smiled Erkvinen as they approached a set of
sharp hills, and began flying contour at a bare few metres, Ilara going
wide-eyed and hanging on for dear life even though it was her behind
these quick manoeuvres.

        <!!!>

<Here's an interesting idea. Draw some of these moves, give
them names... unless there already are. I think they're original
anyhow,> Erk chattered fascinatedly. <Oh look, there's an old barn up
ahead.>

Ilara's high-pitched (battle?) wail lasted all the way through
it, as they screamed through the doors, grazed the tops of some hay
bales, and hurtled out the other end in a puff of hay.

<Barnstormer bonus!> Erkvinen trumpeted in obvious testament to
the level flying. <Wasn't that great, 'lara!>

<Yeah... I had a blast Erk,> Ilara groaned, only grateful that
the two of them wouldn't be flying into combat anytime soon...

[Sarilyn's apartment, evening? Day 2]

Ilara patiently waited for a reply to her knock before turning
the handle, and concernedly said first, "I heard something was up and
wanted to stop by. Are you alright Sarilyn?"

She noticed Sarilyn had company as she stepped in, and suddenly
got terribly nervous... not knowing whether she'd said anything about
what they'd shared. Her throat dried and she managed a shy, "Hi Billy."

[Tag Jeanette, James :)]

[Warrenlady's office, Ilara and paperwork, Day 3]

Ilara swore softly, trying to look as if she knew what she was
doing. Sarilyn knew, but at the moment Ilara didn't want to pull her
in, as much as she needed her help!

Rhia could hear the scrabbling of pen over paper, as the junior
queenrider tried to do as she'd been shown. She was getting better, to
be fair... there was room for improvement though. In the urgency of
having the warren's running handed down, Ilara just wasn't keeping up
well.

<No love...> Ilara heard, <you've got that last one in the wrong
column. Move it along.> She frowned, transferring the writing even as
she tried to understand how she'd messed up, and then realisation dawned
and she smiled.

<Thanks dearest Erk. I owe you one!> she sent back. "This
isn't so hard," she commented softly. "Makes flying look like falling
off a log though." Ilara finally finished the page she was on and
asked, "Right, now what?"

"Carl!" Ilara exclaimed, rising from her chair with an ecstatic
smile as an all-too-missed friend stepped in, followed closely by S'dan.
Uncertainly she met Carl... and then placed her arms around her and
hugged tightly, feeling all the frustrated longing she'd pent up these
few days they'd been parted.

"You're here to see Rhia?" Ilara asked, stepping aside and
offering a chair.

[Tag Jill, Cheryl!]

Jeanette: Awwwwww :( I know about HD problems alright... computer
troubles in general lately *rolls eyes*. Anyway, *HUGS*! I hope it
works out :)

Cheryl: Trying to tie in something you mentioned in your last post (yep,
not sure if I got the timing right...)

Jill: Looks like I finally got the rust off of my inspiration ;) Can we
add the old barn to a list of 'local landmarks' or something *grin*?

All: You can now add <captivanova@hotmail.com> to your lists :) Just
don't drop this one yet *grin*.
