(D'rel & Jareth)
~Eos~
D'rel was a little surprised when Rhia asked him to take her back
to Xylian, but he nodded. "Of course Rhia. We can go as soon as you
are ready."
<~Jareth, could you please land in the main courtyard? Rhia will be
accompanying us back to the Warren~>
<~Of course D'rel~>
D'rel turned back to Rhia. "Jareth will wait for us in the
courtyard."
"Thank you," said Rhia. "I will meet you there in a few moments."
D'rel nodded and left the room. He went to the courtyard and
waited. About 10 minutes later, Rhia arrived, escorted by S'dan. He
had Jareth crouch down so Rhia would have an easier time getting up
his back and, after making sure she was securely seated, gave Jareth
the command to take off and return to Xylian.
~Xylian~
It was late when they arrived at the Warren and left Rhia just
outside the med center. He had asked her if she would need his help,
but she had graciously declined and sent him off to rest. He had
Jareth take them to the apartment they shared with Veronyca and
Glimmer and quietly made his way inside. Upon seeing that Veronyca
was sleeping, D'rel quietly got ready for bed and joined her, being
careful not to wake her.
~Later, at the funerals~
D'rel stood by Veronyca as the two of them watched the funeral
pyres burn higher and higher. Both of them had tears streaming down
their cheeks, but D'rel was more concerned with how Veronyca was
taking all this. He held her close and tried to comfort her as best
he could.
"Red, there's no need to be so upset. There's nothing you could have
done for them. You aren't a healer."
"I know, D'rel. But that doesn't make it hurt any less. I knew when
I became a rider that these things could happen, but yesterday was
just so unexpected."
"I know Red...I know..."
