[DL-X] Messages and patients

"Demastar A. Mulder" <Dema@positronix.demon.co.uk>

Onelist doesn't like me. I know there is at least one post (by Steph)
that has not reached me anywhere. Ummm, I fully expected to get a
bounce message, so here's the post that no-one saw....

---

[At the med centre, after the attack - Ilara's message]

"'lara, here's your messenger. D'rel, this is Ilara," H'lie introduced
them as he found the junior queenrider.

Ilara looked up, anxiously running both hands through her hair as she
thought about the message she'd send to Rhia. "Thanks, H'lie. He knows
what the message is about?"

"You need me to go to Eos and tell Rhia about the attack," D'rel
confirmed, earning himself a pleased smile from Ilara.

"Well, we've fended off a fairly large wraith attack, but we've taken
more casu-alties than before.... the med centre's packed out. Ummm....
seems like we'll be fine but I thought you'd want to come back for the
funerals."

Ilara sighed and nodded to the dragonrider, "That's all. Have a safe
journey, D'rel."

**There's someone in here, Pesa**

**A little girl in all this!**

**It's alright, I'm going to take you somewhere safe**

Ilara put a hand to her temple, bewildered by the sudden flashes of
thought. <Erk, is that you?>

<Is what me?> Erkvinen asked in puzzlement as her rider drifted absently
through the med centre.

<I'm hearing something from a long time ago,> Ilara answered, coming to
a stop and then turning, waiting for another of the thoughts.

**She's lost her family too**

<Dema. It's Dema....> she added, sighting the white-haired 'rider. He
seemed to be asleep, maybe even dreaming.... was that what she was
hearing?

<Beloved, ask Pesamine what happened to him,> Ilara sent to Erk as she
briefly held his hand, thinking how peaceful he looked, so different to
the usual darknesses of worry and concern.

Erkvinen asked, and briefly came back with, <Pesa is pretty sure it was
too much teleporting, when the wraiths came. He asks, will his rider be
alright?>

<I don't know,> Ilara frowned. "I'll ask, though." She imagined that
the dragon would have found it hard to get an answer from the chief
healer.

Nineve was busy, but spared enough time to look up and answer, "Can't
tell for sure, but it seems as though he's sleeping it out. Anyone who
died from 'porting usually didn't take long."

Steph: Sorry about the delay.... should've had a response out way
earlier than this :/ (and no, haven't got any excuses to fall back on
this time....) The main idea is that Rhia gets the news and can return
briefly, which is what Jill's hinting at :)

Jill: I don't remember too clearly the possible side-effects of
teleporting, much less any recovery statistics, so I made it up ;) It's
Demathrin's second time in there, maybe it's a talking point *grin*
he'll recover sometime in the afternoon next day, if you want to write
it in. Not fussed, just trying to get back into the swing (!)
