~~Dining Hall~~

   Veronyca was sitting at a table in the dining hall with B'lin,
listening to him drone on and on about himself.  "Honestly," she
thought.  "How can a person be so full of themself?"  Suddenly she
realized that he had asked her a question and was looking at her
expectantly for an answer.  

"Ummm...I must have blanked out there for a minute.  Could you repeat
the question," she asked and smiled sweetly at him.

"I *said*, so where are you from?"  he leaned back and waited for her
answer.

"Well, my parents were originally from a small town outside of
Lotherra, but they died when I was very young.  After that I was sent
to live with my relatives inside Lotherra.  I think I remember you
from there, actually.  I think you used to hang out with my cousins,"
Veronyca paused to let him respond.

"Hmmm...I don't know," B'lin said.  "That depends on who your cousins
were."  He smiled at her.

"The LaMonde boys," she replied.  "Ian, Michael, and Tynian."

"Oh yes," he said.  "I remember them.  Didn't you used to tag along
sometimes?"

Veronyca nodded.  "Yes, all the time.  Well, when I could get away
from my aunt."

B'lin smiled again.  "I knew you looked familiar."

   They talked for awhile about how things had been during their
childhoods.  Veronyca was beginning to grow tired and she was
beginning to wonder just how long B'lin planned on sitting here with
her.  At this point all she wanted to do was go back to her warren
with Glimmer and crawl into bed.  Finally B'lin seemed to be getting
ready to leave.  She stood and prepared to walk out.  He stood and
walked to her side of the table, leaning against it and looking down
on her.

"So," he said.  "Did you have any ... plans for tonight?"

"Oh no," she thought to herself.  "Just what I need to deal with." 
She smiled sweetly at him.  "No, I was just planning to go back to my
warren and spend a quiet evening relaxing."

"Would you like some company," he asked.

"No, no thank you.  I'd rather be alone, but thank you for offering,"
she replied before heading out of the building.  "Good night," she
called back to him.

<~Glimmer, I'm ready to go home now~>

<~Me too Red, Glay is beginning to wear on my patience~>

<~Come and get me then love and we'll go home~>

<~Okay.  Did you enjoy your dinner with that male?~>

<~I don't even want to talk about it Glimmer~>

   Glimmer flew over and landed just outside the dining hall. 
Veronyca climbed tiredly to her back and the two of them flew off to
one of the higher cave openings in the cliff face.

~~The next morning, on the Green~~

   Veronyca was standing on next to Hetty, talking quietly with her,
when Billy's Chai'lynn arrived with Tiera on her back.  Veronyca was
glad to see that Chai'lynn was feeling better after yesterday, but
wondered why Tiera was there.

>"What's this?" boomed Hetty "Class I think we have a >new member come
to join us!" laughed Hetty.

>Tiera looked a bit sheepish.
>"I've come to give Chai an oiling." said Tiera. "I can >understand
why she came here." noticing the buckets of >oil that were dotted about.

Veronyca smiled.
"I can help you if you like Tiera."

Glimmer moved over nearer to Chai and looked at the younger dragon.
