*B'Lin*

He was tired of waiting.. tired of being pushed aside.. He was her husband
was he not? He had went through that entire wedding and had made those
stupid promises to Rhia hadn't he? And as far as he could see it... well,
little Lecia was not keeping her side of the bargain up.

She'd have to spend more time with R'Har...he'd insist on that... And his
mother was worried over a cough that the young child had developed....a dry
hacking that went on and on in the night. Why didn't Lecia even rouse from
her slumber to check on the little boy?

It all concerned B'Lin greatly....he and the baby were her
priority...weren't they? That had been the way he had always been raised.
Family first...

<She is now a junior queenrider, B'lin. Her top priority is the warren>
Glay warned.

B'Lin snorted. <No Glay....and I can tell you that not having your
priorities in order is what is causing trouble for my sister and Hero.>

Glay sighed. <I wish I hadn't shared that information with you.>

B'Lin grinned smugly. <Not like I haven't been predicting it, Glay. What
was everyone expecting? They would be happy ever after?>

<Menia has said that your sister is more distraught than ever before... It
could cause her to go into a tailspin with her treatment...>

<And where is he while she tailspins?> B'Lin returned quickly.

<He's very upset as well...from what I understand...you know I don't make it
a habit to speak to Britche.>

B'Lin rolled his eyes and walked up over a small hill, pushing past some
undergrowth along the way, before stopping dead in his tracks.

<What is it rider?>

B'Lin didn't answer...instead, he just stood in his tracks, staring as his
wife pushed back Ilara's hair fondly.

<Ohhhh...> Glay chuckled. <But B'Lin - I had always thought that had been a
fantasy of yours...>

<Hush you!> B'Lin snapped and strode further out into the clearing, allowing
himself to be seen by both women.

Lecia and Ilara exchanged goodbyes and B'lin's eyes followed his wife as she
walked up to him, smiling and reaching out.

"What the hell do you think you were doing???" he whispered lowly as he
grabbed her by the arm and pulled her further away.

"What do you mean...what was I doing? B'Lin...stop.. I can't keep up with
your pace."

But he didn't slow down, and instead walked faster until they were at a safe
enough distance.

"Is this what you have been busy doing?? Is this why you wouldn't come home
and take care of our son?? Because you were too busy with that lesbian!"

"Lesbian?" Lecia formed the foreign word slowly.

"Yes...a lesbian...you know....girl and girl....queer....gay...." B'Lin
stared down at Lecia as she blinked up at him.

"Gay?" she repeated back at him, still with a questioning look on her face.

B'Lin finally threw up his hands in exasperation. "Damn Lecia....you
know...Ilara likes to have sex with other women...and only other women!"

Lecia stood there for a few moments and then just shook her head before
asking, "How?"

He chewed on the inside of his cheek for a moment before leaning over and
whispering in her ear, causing Lecia to blush fiercely. "B'Lin!"

"Well?" B'Lin shrugged. "It's true..."

"I don't believe you..."

"Ask her..."

"I will....I think you are making horrible things up and really,
B'Lin...she's going through a rough time..."

B'Lin shook his head and then wrapped his arm around her shoulders, leading
her over to their dragons. "Let's just go home, Lish... We've got other
things to discuss, mainly why you can't spend more time with R'har."

You expected to be sad in the fall. Part of you died
each year when the leaves fell from the trees and
their branches were bare against the wind and the
cold, wintry light. But you knew there would always
be the spring, as you knew the river would flow again
after it was frozen.
