It had been a long time since Veronyca had been to Eos, much less to
the Court, and she was beginning to feel a bit out of place, standing
amidst all of the people in fine clothes in her riding leathers.  Just
then she felt a tap on her shoulder and heard a soft male voice say
"Veronyca?  Is that you Red?"

Veronyca turned quickly and found herself looking directly at a mans
very broad chest.  She looked up and realized that the man was her
cousin Victor.  "Vic!" she exclaimed quietly, throwing her arms around
him in a big hug.  "It's been a long time."

Victor nodded, carefully embracing his tiny cousin.  "It sure has."  He
looked at her riding leathers, then at the people around him, who were
pointedly avoiding Veronyca.  "You know," he whispered, "if you like I
can take you to my wife and she can find you something else to wear. 
You two are about the same size and at least then people would talk to
you."

Veronyca nodded and Victor led her off to his home.  Victor's wife
actually *was* close to Veronyca in size and was kind enough to quickly
find Veronyca something a little more appropriate to wear to court. 
"Here you go," the woman said.  "This'll suit you just fine."  Veronyca
smiled and thanked the woman, who just shrugged it off.  "You're
family," was her only reply.

Veronyca quickly changed into the much finer gown and shoes, then
Victor took her back up to the palace.  Ver stowed her riding gear with
Glimmer, then went looking for Sarilyn, since she *knew* the younger
woman was here.  After wandering the hallways with little luck, Ver
grasped a passing page by the arm and asked the young man where the
Lady Sarilyn's rooms were.  The page took a look at her state of dress
and assumed she was a noblewoman herself.  "The Lady's rooms are just
down this hallway, second doorway to the right mi'lady," he stuttered.

"Thank you lad," Ver replied nicely before hurrying along.  She felt a
little odd being called "mi'lady" and she didn't want to disconcert the
poor boy any further.  Just then she came across the correct door and
she knocked softly.  "Sarilyn?" she called softly.
